LSU Defeats Tarleton State 96-60 In Season Opener

Per LSU: BATON ROUGE, La. – The LSU Men’s Basketball won their season opener over Tarleton State, 96-60, on Wednesday night inside the Pete Matavich Assembly Center.
The Tigers advance to 1-0 overall while Tarleton State falls to 0-1 on the season. LSU connected on 33-of-47 on the floor shooting 70 percent while Tarleton State was nearly 32 percent. The Tigers also knocked down nearly 44 percent from 3-point range and converted 22-of-29 at the free throw line.
LSU guard Max Mackinnon was the leading scorer for the Tigers, finishing with 19 points on 6-of-7 shooting and four-of-five from 3-point range. In addition to Mackinnon, five other Tigers scored in double figures including Dedan Thomas Jr. (16), Marquel Sutton (13), Jalen Reed (11), Michael Nwoko (11) and Robert Miller III (10).
Kade Douglas was the leading scorer for Tarleton State, finishing with 19 points on six of 12 shooting.
The Tigers are back in action on Monday, November 10 as they return home to face New Orleans. The game will tip off at 7:00 p.m. CT inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center.
