Former LSU star Ben Simmons has agreed to a five-year, $170 million maximum extension with the Philadelphia 76ers, according to multiple sources. Per ESPN:

The sides had until mid-October to finalize the extension of Simmons' rookie deal, but Paul and Sixers general manager Elton Brand completed the deal significantly sooner.

ESPN reported earlier this month that the Sixers had offered the max $170 million extension to Simmons, the NBA Rookie of the Year in 2017-18. The Athletic first reported Monday that the sides had reached an agreement.

Overpaid. Severely. Can’t make a jump shot and is soft.

He's still young and getting better. Let's say he continiues to develop, and adds 3 points, 2 assists, and 1 rebound to his per game average. Not crazy to believe that could happen, as this coming season will be his third to play in the league. That would put him at : 20 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds per game. There aren't a lot of players out there who AVERAGE a triple double. The people paying him know him better than we do.

I wonder if there are any additional incentives if he makes a jump shot... any jump shot.
