LSU senior pitcher Alden Cartwright announced on Twitter Monday afternoon that he has ended his Baseball career.

The Baton Rouge native had Tommy John elbow surgery in April and then shoulder surgery in the fall. He will graduate from LSU in May.

Thanks for everything, Alden! You were a very good pitcher, and I am sad to see this day come. However, I understand the grueling rehab process as years ago I suffered a major knee injury and missed my chance to play college ball. It was hard to accept, but I realized that God had a different path for me. I accepted his plan and went on to have a wonderful and successful life and I know that you will too. Keep your head up and good things will happen. Best of luck. And thanks for being a Tiger!
