LSU has landed a commitment from Florida transfer Cade Kurland.

The former Florida standout brings four years of high-level experience, including Freshman All-American honors in 2023 when he hit .297 with 17 home runs and helped lead the Gators to the College World Series finals against LSU.

Despite battling injuries during his career in Gainesville, Kurland has remained a productive offensive player, totaling 43 career home runs and 142 RBI at Florida. His addition provides LSU with valuable versatility and leadership in the infield as the Tigers continue to reshape their roster through the transfer portal. If Kurland elects to return to college rather than sign professionally following the MLB Draft, he could become an impact piece for LSU's lineup in 2027.

Good pickup for us but I hate the concept.. he has played 4 years at Florida and transfers to an in conference rival for his final year. No putting the portal/NIL genie back in the bottle I get it, but it’s such a weird dynamic.
