The Chicago Cubs selected LSU right-handed pitcher Alex Lange No. 30 overall in the first round of the MLB Draft Monday night.

The No. 30 pick carries an allotted slot value of $2,184,300.

Lange, a junior from Lee's Summit, Mo, went 9-5 this season with a 2.87 era and 124 strikeouts.
