Report: Auburn DC Derek Mason Is Leaving The Staff

It was reported this week that Auburn defensive coordinator Derek Mason was being targeted for the DC job at Oklahoma State.
On Friday we learned that Mason will be leaving Auburn staff and linebackers coach and assistant head coach Jeff Schmedding will be promoted to DC, according to Matt Zenitz with On3.
Schmedding followed Harsin from Boise State to Auburn and was Harsin's defensive coordinator in 2019 and 2020.
The report did not specify Mason's plans but he is likely still in play for the Oklahoma State job.
