It was pretty obvious that they weren't very good last year, there just wasn't a great team anywhere to step up and take the title.

Rebuilding year my arse. They have a nearly 90% blue chip ratio (the insanity of that is lost on many of you I bet), and they damn near pick and choose who they want from the portal. They don't have rebuilding years they have underperforming years.

Saban is speaking of rebuilding in relation to the teams in the cfp. They had lost more than anyone. He isn’t talking about rebuilding compared to the rest of college football. We’ll see at the end of the season if he was right.

Bama was preseason #1 but lost to a down A&M team and then was spanked pretty badly in the title game once both teams had time to heal up and prepare. Seems more like they underperformed.
