Alabama AD Greg Byrne Calls For An End To SEC Championship Game

In an interview with USA TODAY, Greg Byrne said the SEC Championship Game may have “run its course.”

Introduced in 1992, the Southeastern Conference title game was once groundbreaking, but the expanded College Football Playoff has reduced its importance. Byrne called it a great event but suggested it may no longer make sense moving forward.
