Living the dream You can hunt from that camp as well. You are surrounded by WMA and they have a shitload of teal and grey ducks.

Ill play. We've hunted all over southwest louisiana since I was a young guy. Mamou, south of holmwood, little chenier, big chenier, 4 mile square near Johnson bayou back to holmwood for about 8 years now just north of Klondike. All of these were duck leases.

I've sat in deer stands in west texas, easy texas, Beauregard parish and Vernon parish. Mostly hunts I was invited on sometimes as a thank you for duck hunts but now always.

On the river? We used to launch not far from there at the Hangout when we hunted UO. McGowan was up that way too but never hunted it.

Scouting to add this season Lake Salvador/Timken WMA

That's where I hunt. It is very hit or miss and kind of crowded for the amount of ducks they have. But then again what WMA isn't crowded.

Wherever the ducks are in NW LA and NE TX. Mostly public in East TX where we can free lance without having to worry about setting up next to some good ole boy's great Pow Pow's blind. Also a private hole over around Mt. Pleasant during the second split.

How easy can I get around out there in a 15' monark with a 40hp outboard?

I'd like to get up in the area that looks like flooded swamp/marsh on the north side of Lake Catouhatche (sp?), is this possible?

Did a ton of work in there and have seen a ton of deer in there. That is some badass land, I really like how there are quite a few different types of terrain.

Deer, squirrel, rabbit - Convent, La. Knee deep nasty arse swamp. Lease a Couple thousand acres plus it butts up to a 100k + WMA that is very rarely hunted. Small swamp deer with a few donkeys mixed in.

Deer - Keithville, La. Friends family land. 2000 +/- acres, but mostly pastureland. Good deer but since having kids I don't make it up there as often as I should.

I think you would have better luck in bayou gauche than cataouche with an outboard. Cataouche is full of lilies and has a lot more mud than BG.

If you ever want to woodcock hunt the edges after deer season with bird dogs that don't chase deer, let me know...
