re: How's the hunting in Jackson parish? - dbllung
Lots of coyotes and pigs too! Hunt pretty close to JB WMA. If you're thinking of leasing JB land it has potential if hunter per acre is right. Someone told me they want close to $15/acre for that land. Definitely wouldn't pay that!...

re: Bienville gobbler down - dbllung
Don't know for sure. Game warden told me for my type of terrain this was probably a 3/4 y/o bird based on the length of his spurs. Told me generally that anything over an inch spur is a 3 y/o or better bird. Also, all the wing tips were worn down from strutting. Said on younger birds just the la...

Bienville gobbler down - dbllung
Having struck out on a bird earlier in the morning, I made the 1500 yard walk down a gas line practicing on my new Red Wasp mouth call. When I got about 100 yards from the road I decided to clean up two shooting lanes where I planned on hunting in the afternoon. As it was only 10:00 I decided to s...

Which way to go? Driving suggestions - dbllung
If I'm at the intersection of Hwy 66/969 near Tunica WMA, which is faster to get to Woodville Ms - should i go back down 66 to 61 and head North or go down Pickneyville Rd to Woodville? TIA ...

re: So i just had an experience with MidwayUSA i'll share - dbllung
Maybe because I only shop online, but I know not to ever trust their "size" chart. It's one of the aggravations I expect in order to save a little $$. Would you have paid to return it if it fit but you just didn't like it for some other reason?...

Maybe it's me, but if I order something over the internet and it doesn't fit, I fully expect to pay the return postage. ...

re: Connor Culp - the facts - dbllung
Hope he has nerves of steel! Can't imagine what it must be like to have to kick a game winning field goal with 100,000+ people screaming against you. Hope he's a kid who wants the ball when the game is on the line! Good to know we're getting a good one....

re: What is your "go to" turkey call? - dbllung
Will do. I usually buy at least one custom call every year. Last year I bought a trumpet call but I just don't put in the time on it. Going to practice a lot more this year. It sounds as good as my diaphragm. Will definitely check out B&C calls. Is there a specific name for the call you...

re: What is your "go to" turkey call? - dbllung
I have to admit I thought this reply was a joke until I googled it. I'll have to try that call out. I hope it's easier to use than the Woodhaven Scott Ellis Signature series....

What is your "go to" turkey call? - dbllung
For locating I love my Lynch's Fool Proof box call and Primo's Aluma Slate call. If I already hear one gobbling I usually turn to my Kenny Morgan friction wood or my Andy Kaiser slate call. Still can't find a diaphragm call that I can work consistently. Any suggestions on your favorite mouth call...
The Dowlings are some of the nicest people you'll meet. When you brink kids in there, they always give them their choice of candy(M&M's, skittles, snickers) and .50 cents to get a coke out of the machine.
I live in N.O. and hunt in Bienville parish and Dowlings is where I go. Ver...
Comfortable climber such as Summit Viper, a good loc on stand for when it's 100 degrees and climbing with a climber will make you look like you went swimming, and you should be good to go. re: Getting into Bow hunting - dbllung
Lots of good bows out there today. I agree with another poster that you should look to buying a used bow first. Lots of people need the latest and greatest. If you stick with Bear, Mathews, Hoyt, Bow Tech, Elite or PSE you should have no problems. One thing that most people forget about is the...
