I knew about this already.
I challenged my body to meet me at Sonic to settle things once and for all.
My body got there before me and ordered a #1 and large tots.

It's easy to see how it works. About 15lbs poured off. Then I started to reach a state where the last 5 lbs took a lot longer to go. I've got about 10 more that I want to lose, but I realize that's a year long goal. I'm reaching a point where I'm at an equilibrium with metabolism and calorie intake. And I don't expect to stay at this weight without continuing my current exercise workload.
and then you see someone with rippling muscles eating hot Cheetos, pork cracklins and red drank extra sugar....and think, he's probably measuring his portions and counting his intake and off-setting his consumption with tofu and kale salads at night.

The people on that show all are forced to eat way too little and train way too much. Not surprising to me that their bodies get all fricked up from that. That is the wrong way to do it.

no hes probably not eating much else besides that or he is hitting the shite out of the gym. Not saying some people aren't blessed with higher metabolism, but its still energy balance.

So much wrong with this entire rant and your outlook in general
Enjoy looking for your excuses.

Not to mention that his "rippling muscles" help too.
Could be doing IF, could be bulking, could be a cheat day
You can eat a Caniac everyday and maintain weight

I eat whatever I want. And however much I want. I just burn about 5k calories per week running ,swimming, or riding my bike. I could easily be a lot skinnier if I dieter too. It just takes about an hour per day of hard work. I ate an entire medium domino's pizza Friday. I then ran 5 miles on Saturday and busted assume on the bike on Sunday. I'm down to 165 and have been as big as 200 lbs (5'11"). So I can see how guys could be ripped and eat like shite. Can't do it all the time maybe, but if you put in the work, you can offset the calories.

Guy I worked with for 9 months. Got fired for sleeping on the job(North Baton Rouge plant worker). Dude was a twig (<10% body fat). He'd come in with bedroom slippers on(work boots at job) and a bag of mcDonald's. He'd have at least two bags of Andy Cap Hot fries during the day, and for lunch would either have Popeye's, Taco Bell, or a hot plate from a local grocery store.
I don't know what he did at night, probably p90x

As the years went by and the numbers on the scale climbed, the contestants’ metabolisms did not recover. They became even slower, and the pounds kept piling on.
Their metabolisms did not recover? No shite. These people are food addicts. They got relatively healthy and decided "Hey I'm just like Joe next door. I can eat pizza one a week and slack off on training and I'll be just like Joe!"
I applaud anyone that went on the show. I also "boo" them for falling back into the same patterns that got them on the show. Food addicts.

Yeah, some people do have a higher metabolism.
I am one of those people. I struggle to put on weight, whether I eat like crap or not.
Life isn't fair, get over it. All you've done in this thread is grasp at straws and find an excuse for being fat.

Excuse for skinny, ha. When I go to the gym, I can't lift weights because when I do my arms get even bigger. I have to wear larger polos just for the arm hole size. I gain muscle very easy, I just can't lose the fat around it so that I'm cut. I lift more than these sculptures and they tell me I should get into power lifting, but i want a swimmers body.

Not really. I just adjusted my eating habits and have been making headway. But I don't go around complaining that other people have it easier than me. I just do what I need to do to achieve my goals.

I've been strength training and running pretty regularly and now I'm at a lean 175 lbs, but I'm intentionally eating more calories now to help with my athletic goals.

it does but these guys are overtraining to the T and this is coming from somebody that thinks in 99% of cases overtraining is BS.
And their metabolism is slowing because they are crash dieting trying to win the show. A slow and steady approach with proper refeeds to reset hormones would prevent this.
Its a shite study based upon a shite diet performed by a drug company who's sole purpose is to sell more pills.
and of course a crash diet with up to 6 hours of exercise a day isn't healthy.
The biggest loser is a crock of shite that focuses solely on weight loss, not a healthy life style, not on education and certainly not on how to lose fat and build muscle.
As far as the study goes....shite in=shite out
BINGO.

Your hyperbole is a little much.
I used to know a guy in high school that would eat literally nothing but junk food all day, and would drink no less than 2 monster energy drinks PER DAY. He was skinny as a rail. I'd guess 6'0, 140lbs. Some people do have the ability to eat whatever the frick they want and not put on much (if any) weight. This does eventually wear off as they age and they will eventually put on weight. Also, that doesn't mean they aren't doing damage to their body by eating nothing but shite food.
However, the majority of people at a healthy weight do have to watch what they eat to some degree. I'm of the belief that, for most people, your ability to self-regulate food intake largely comes from your upbringing. How your family looks at food, what kind of priority they put on fitness, and how they treated you as a child whenever you stopped eating because you were full (I.E. "mom im full' 'FINISH YOUR FOOD!' vs 'mom im full" "okay, throw whatever you didn't eat away' or 'okay we'll save it for later'), etc. all affects how, as an adult, you will maintain your health. Then there's your own mental state and whether or not you use food to cope with stress, depression, etc. There are lots of factors.

More excuses.
So you're eating at a deficit while constantly putting on muscle... Should be easier for you than everyone else

then you don't know what the frick you are doing. Do you track every single thing that goes in your mouth? do you even know what your TDEE is or even close to what it is? If not then quit being a whiny little bitch.
look you aren't some special snowflake who defies the laws of thermodynamics. Calories in vs calories out are what matters. Quit making excuses for your fatness. Most of has been there, it sucks, do something about it.

What he said.
"I lift and gain tons of muscle and just get fatter!"
Eat right. Track every calorie and eat at a deficit. You will lose weight. And yes, you have to count all the beer you drink.
