That would really stick it to the Gumps if Saban came back to LSU.

I know that Miles has been incredibly successful here, but every time I talk to former players and people close to the program they say he isn't anywhere close to the football coach Saban is. I hate to hear it but they a lot of them think Miles is a little slow. (que the replys with Miles record).

Considering this was the defense's first game with the new defensive scheme, we played well enough to win the game.

As a clueless fan, what more could you want?

Gee, dude, Miles wins 10 games a year first three years, wins 8 the fourth, and all of sudden glory days are over for my LSU team? I don't think so.

LSU, elite and proud to be elite.

People should listen to what he said. He pointed out that the defense was in proper position most of the game, and greatly improved in the second half. He also pointed out that missed tackles have to improved.

When you take what he said in its proper context, he's right.

I never said I wanted to get rid of Miles who has three 11 win seasons. I just said if Michigan comes after him, we can get Saban.

Yea, stick it to the Gumps who never did anything to stick it to LSU. You give ourself too much credit.

Anyway, if you can get him, get him. He's a great coach and we love having him here but the program is bigger and we'll move on like we did after Fran and yes, I am correct. The teeth nashing lasted about 2 weeks. This has gone on for years and will continue due to LSU's lack of confidence and inferiority complex.. If you're so desperate that ONLY one man can win there, well, my opinions of the LSU program are correct. A flash or one decade wonder. Wow, would the press have a field day with Nick and the LSU program. For MIles, after all the crying over Saban, who could blame him for leaving. The only thing I blame him for is staying around and listening to the sad sacks talk about their former lover. I'd have been gone. The whole hanging and burning thing was disgusting and showed the nation where the LSU fans stand in their support of Miles. If he was supported no one would have cared Saban was back in BTR. Never have I seen a coach with a NC less respected. He has never had the fans support. The fans support the team, yes, the head coach has never been fully supported.

he seems to do a decent job recruiting.
DECENT?! please tell me you're joking. name the staff that has consistently recruited better. and you say he's "decent". wow.

quote:

But, he consistently makes decisions that cause you to wonder.

like what? please don't be like the ignorant fans nationwide that think the last play of the '07 auburn game was horrible coaching. it was actually the "right" call. don't blame miles because the offense took too long to get the ball snapped. and the 4th downs against florida showed that he not only knew his team but also knew the situation and the 4th down stats. oh, maybe he's just "lucky" with 5 4th down conversions against florida. as for the occasional timout, remember auburn last year? tuberville is one of the best, right? every coach, including saban and meyer make the occasional clock management mistake. saban used to drive me CRAZY when he had the ball at the end of the half in a close game and he would shut down the offense.

quote:

Urban Meyer and Nick Saban are going to dominate the SEC until one of them moves on.
yet miles hasn't had a loss like bama's loss at home to ulm. and even meyer wasn't that great in '07.

my question to you is: who are you comparing miles against? what team consistently wins "pretty". no matter how you slice it, all perceptions aside, miles is in the elite of the elite during his time at lsu. obviously, that may change in the future

how many more great seasons will it take before those perceptions (game decisions, confusing statements) will have to be adjusted?

good grief. not another. please go to college football data warehouse. there you will learn that lsu is in the top 15 all time in wins. and the list started in the 1800's, not this decade.

nothing, I MEAN NOTHING, could top the circus that is bama football (decades of cheating, psychotic fanbase, board members harassing applebaum, albert means/tenn, etc). it wasn't nearly as big of a deal as some people made it out to be.

It will never happen. Miles will still be critized if LSU went undefeated. He doesn't have the speaking skills that people perceive as a quality coach. The 07 Auburn game for example...if that was Florida under Meyer, it would have been hailed as brilliant playcalling to catch Auburn off guard. But it was Miles, so it is considered a terrible decision. Personally, I don't care if Miles can sounds like a complete retard, and gets slammed for every decision by the media even in a win.... as long as LSU wins games.

The lack of discipline, focus and character on the field is what I question.

i should have said that nothing can consistenly reach bama-demic proportions. the whole ark/sprindale drama did reach bama levels of insanity but there's no way ark could keep up with bama in that regard.

again, what teams are better? you know good and well we'll be able to come up with examples of breakdowns from every single team in college football. since that kind of behavior it true of all college football teams, the question remains which team wins the most? right now, miles is with the best of the best in that regard.

No fricking shite. Thank you for starting yet another, "I don't trust Miles" thread. What...the...frick? Seriously, did you really find it necessary to start this thread, and think you would get any different answers than the thousands of other threads that have already been about this very...same...fricking...topic?

Ban this douchebag rantard.

Sorry I didnt realize Miles won those games himself. I thought it was because we have had way more talent than anyone else and still manage to not live up to billing.

His NC is with two losses even. We backed/lucked our way to that crystal football.

The 2006 team was BY FAR the most talented and should have never lost a game.
