Sandstorm?

Techno song by artist Darude. It's South Carolina's pre-game pump-up song. The entire crowd goes nuts and twirls towels in the air.
I really hope that LSU fans are respectful and supportive of any South Carolina fan that makes their way to Baton Rouge for this game. There isn't a single fan base that understands what they're going through more than LSU's fans.

They've got to give up a home game, so I thought it would be pretty nice to play Sandstorm prior to the game, to show some solidarity and support for USCar fans.

It would be funny to watch the crowd boo the crap out of her though

Except that Mary Landrieu is going to win in a landslide. Louisiana loves Mary.
LET'S DO THE MATH!

QB(Great Thrower x Agile Runner)/6 + RB(Fast x Powerful)/7 = Unstoppable Option Reads. Les Miles dreams of this Tiger Algebra every night! THE FUTURE IS BRIGHT, BOYS AND GIRLS!

Just to give you an idea of how much money that is:

$1,000,000 - That's a lot of money. Probably more money than most of you plebs on TD will ever make in your lifetime. This amount of money would be life-changing for 95% (conservatively) of the entire population of the country.

$1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000

That's $10 million. That would make you in the top .1% of people living in Baton Rouge based on net worth.

This is what $100 million looks like:

$1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000 $1,000,000

Multiply that times 12 and you get Tom Benson.
Many of you guys might remember Steven, the Bama fan. I'm not sure of his username on TD.Com, but he was an active poster. He and I had become good friends after one season that he and his tailgate buddies came down to BR. We texted a lot, I drove up to Huntsville to visit him for a weekend of barbecue and good times. Anyone who knew him was blessed by him.

He truly was a good soul and a loyal friend, but G*ddamn was he naive. He was generous with the things he had, especially his trust. He truly believed that everyone was as good of a person as he was, and unfortunately, he was often taken advantage of. He was having bouts of depression, turning to alcohol, and eventually harder things.

He died about 4 years ago due to liver failure around Christmas, due to complications with alcohol and seizure medication - a result of just how hard his depression took a hold of him.

The last season he came down to BR, he brought me an LSU helmet that now sits on top of my desk. He had lost quite a bit of weight due to the sickness, but he still had high spirits. I promised him that I would come up and visit when I got off work around Christmas.

Two weeks before my trip up, I called his wife to ask him how he's doing and to tell her that I was still planning on coming up for Christmas. She replied, "we don't think he's going to make it to Christmas". I left work immediately and drove the 8 hours up to visit him, bringing that LSU helmet he brought me that season.

I spent the night with him and his family, and before I said good-bye to him for the last time, I had him sign it. He could barely muster the strength for a proper signature due to how weak he was, so his name is rather jumbled and barely legible.

He passed away a couple days later.

Every season, when LSU plays Alabama, I take that helmet with me wherever I watch the game, just so I know that Steven is there with me. As long as LSU and Bama have a game, I will always have Steven by my side.

The helmet.

What's the word on Keenan Lewis?

I wasn't looking for coverage on his hit to the head. Did they say he would be ready for Seattle?
No, but it would be nice if we could play UF and UK and Bama played UGA and Tenn.
Saban is now 5-3 against Les Miles.

It's not like Saban has mopped the floor with Miles.

Frick that O-Line.

They gave up on that last drive and Mettenberger paid the price. Their job is to prevent ONE MAN from getting hit. If they don't do their job, that one man suffers, and they all gave up. 65 didn't even bother to help his leader up. There was a half-assed effort by one lineman, which Mett shrugged off. Too late. Where were you when he was crawling on the ground?

Mett is a champ.

I hope Coach Miles runs that line until they puke.

Going Silent (Men's Basketball)

Posted by Shrimp_PoBoy on 9/6/13 at 4:42 pm
While having a recent conversation with a friend of mine who plays college basketball, we got on the subject of comebacks and why it seems that away teams that would normally be blown out after suffering a two-digit deficit can overcome seemingly insurmountable odds.

His response: "You're in the zone, man."

I asked him what he meant and he said that when you're losing, a lot of the time what really kills you is your own thoughts. When the crowd is really loud, you can't hear yourself think, so you just get in the zone. What I gathered from his elaboration was that when you can't think, you don't try to overcompensate, you don't think about the score, you don't think about anything other than the gameplan.

I asked him, "well, what if the crowd was completely silent?"

He laughed and said "that would be messed up, yo."

So, I'm wondering: do you think that the PMAC could pull off being completely silent when the visiting team has the ball near the end of the 2nd half? You could imagine the eruption of cheers when a shot was missed and just the sqeaking of the shoes.

It would make for a unique experience and no one would expect it.

Anyway, just my thoughts.
