For those who didn't get the food or drinks that they expected, let me apologize for the LSU Dallas Alumni Chapter. The tailgate party was supposed to be from 1:00-7:00 and we would have had plenty to eat and drink if it happened like that. But when we were setting up for the party we saw over 200 people lined up at the Will Call at 11:30, waiting to get into the party. As hot as it was we decided to let the people in 1 1/2 hrs early so that they could be comfortable, as opposed to broiling in the eat. So, because we started the party very early we did run out of food and drinks much earlier than we should have.

We did go through 45 (yes, 45) kegs of beer yesterday and enough food to feed an army. But because we let people in much earlier than we had planned on, our supplies didn't last until 7:00. We apologize for that.

Thanks to all of you who did come. All the net proceeds we made off the tailgate party go into our scholarship fund for local kids who want to go to LSU. The people from our chapter all worked as volunteers planning and putting this thing together and working it at Gilligan's. Hat's off to them for all their hard work.

Please follow this traffic flow to help ease congestion around Cowboy Stadium. DO NOT FOLLOW YOUR GPS. Note that the Arlington Convention Center is highlighted as the LSU Student Recruiting Event will take place at that location; when you leave that event please follow the traffic flow to make your way over to our family-friendly Tailgate Party.

J Gilligan's has indoor seating for 250 people with plenty of TVs to keep up with the opening day games around the country. The outside area can accommodate 1200 people and will have the true Tiger Tailgate atmosphere. Outside will be TENTED with fans and misters and plenty of tables & seating. Outside will also have plenty of TVs showing the other SEC Games of the day. Food and refreshments will be provided by our event sponsors.

Some of the food that will be served will include:

Hamburger Sliders, Chicken Sliders, BBQ Pulled Pork Sliders
Quesadillas, Tacos, Chips & Salsa
Seasoned French Fries
Tony Chachere's is bringing their tailgate rig and cooking up Cajun fare of jambalaya, turkey, and other items TBD.

** Additional food and drinks that are not part of the package will be available for purchase from the restaurant. **

Tailgate Party attendees will be allowed free parking access; 2 Tailgate admission wristbands per car required. Your wristband will allow access into J Gilligan's parking lots with over 1000 spots available. There will be NO "ins and outs" from these lots - parking will NOT be guaranteed once leaving the lot.

With the purchase of above noted Tailgate Party package, *Shuttle transfers to / from the stadium drop off / pickup point is included and your admission wristband will again allow access onto the shuttle. There will be six 24-passenger buses and shuttle service will run continuously from 3pm to 2am. Shuttle service departure frequency to the game will run approximately every 15 - 20 minutes. Shuttle service departure frequency back to J Gilligan's for post-game festivities will depart the pick up point approximately every 30 minutes.

J Gilligan's will be open till 2am for after-game fun !! Come on back for a Post-Game Victory Party and celebrate while the traffic clears.

Sorry, but Humperdinks doesn't have near the parking that Gilligan's has, nor does it have tented, MISTED outdoor seating with fans. Humperdinks will be very crowded inside. Nor does it have Tony Chachere's Taigate Team cooking.

Updated Rehearsal Time: Tiger Band Open Practice Saturday Morning !!

LSU Tiger Band will be rehearsing Saturday Morning (Aug 31) from 9:30AM to NOON (take notice of the new rehearsal time) at the Birdville High School Fine Arts & Athletic Center in North Richland Hills. (9200 Mid Cities Blvd - corner of Precinct Line Road and Mid-Cities Blvd). What a great way to get an early start on the day's Frog Fest. Come get your dose of goosebumps when they break out the pre-game music.

The practice is open to the public and especially to Tiger Alumni and Fans. Several local high school graduates are in Tiger Band and would love to get a chance to perform in front of a "home town" crowd. Hope to see you there.

The band is schedued to arrive at Cowboys Stadium at 5pm. They will move into the stadium at 6:15 with pre-game scheduled for 7:45 !!!
