I have used one for years. It's a youth rifle I was given at 8. Shot a .270 for a few years and went back to the .25-06. I like it because its small and compact, and most of my hunting is done out of treestands. I've shot a handful of deer in the #250 range without tracking more than 20-40 yards. I don't take many long shots, but I've wacked a few out to 150 yards. You won't here any complaints from this guy.

Sounds very similar to the smoked salmon sandwich that Maxwell's Market serves. Smoked salmon, cream cheese, capers, red onion, and boiled egg on marbled rye bread. I could eat that for lunch everyday for the next year.

I typically fish the leeville/fourchon area. Not sure what setup you are referring to, boat, rod/reel, lure, etc. I've got a small skiff I throw cheap all-star/H20 combos when saltwater fishing, and I'll be throwing a smoke-colored fluke on a 1/8 jighead or weighted hook tomorrow.

Yes...a limit, as in 5. I enjoy smoked redfish on the halfshell, and I intend to eat some Saturday afternoon. There are plenty of redfish in the sea if thats what you're getting at.

Ok...I'm back, just had to switch computers. You folks are gullible. As for my redfish rig in the morning. I'll be sight fishing, chunking plastics on a jig head until I get my limit. Then I'll probably break out the fly rod and have some fun. Bad start for the Saints.

I live in south Louisiana, I'll be snagging reds in the AM, so yes, I do some saltwater fishing. As far as expertise, I'm sort of a jack of all trades. Dad was the great white hunter so that is what I grew up doing, but I was always drawn to fishing. I am probably a better hunter, doesn't matter the species, I'm pretty well rounded on that side of things (put an arrow through a rabbits skull yesterday afternoon). I tend to enjoy the primitive side of the outdoors. Archery and fly-fishing, and I'm somewhat of a naturalist. I really enjoy backpacking as well, as long as I get to do some fishing along the way.
