Seating question for bowl game

Posted by Mississippi on 12/26/08 at 10:29 pm
Does anyone know which section the LSU players families sit in? All that the family that I want to sit near knows is the gate that they go in.

I am trying to get a single ticket in that area.

There is a very good chance Travis Dickson plays defense in college...he is going to be a great player for LSU (I hope)!

Travis is being recruited as a Tight End.

Dickson makes All-State

This is Richards brother. He was offered by LSU after the Alabama game.

Sad Story

Don't think that has been posted yet.
I have seen him play football and he was phenomenal.
Supposedly he had offers to Alabama, Auburn, Mississippi, Mississippi St and quite a few other schools.

Very sad

We did both last year.

Do you think that you guys can handle Florida?

Amen. I think it's a great thing. I'm an LSU graduate, and I get choked up singing the alma mater before each home game. I used to sing it (and "Hey Fightin' Tigers") to my daughter when she was a baby. I have great pride in my university, not just the sports teams.

I am probably in the minority on the fight song. Glad that it is important to a lot of people.

Do other schools do that after a game?

Isn't Miles the guy that said he'd take his team and play any suckers anywhere? Or something southern and tough like that?

That is the 'street' Les, not the southern Les.
My initial question was wether he would fit in better at a northern school?
Maybe you are right about not going to school their but do a lot of other schools do that and are they northern schools?
Seems like a nice guy but is he trying tooooooo hard to fit in?
Message to Les - Less is More
Les says and does things that seem so corny to me. I am not a Miles basher but he seems like the biggest nerd to me.
The singing of the fight song after home games - Do most other schools do that? Most of the players don't even sing along
The things that he says to try to motivate - "Pursuing Victory", "striving for excellence in all phases"........yada yada yada

Maybe its just me but I wouldn't mind our coach just saying "We'll line up our 11 against their 11 and see what happens".
Is it a northern, big ten thing or is it just Les?

We really enjoy pursuing victory playing at a level...Uhhh...that is enjoyed by our players perserveering through practicing in that fashion.

Not related but friends with family.
I think that the team feels like if they should be competing for a national championship. Its a shame that the QB situation turned out to be so inconsistant (being nice). I think that it ran over into the defensive play. Three and outs are deflating to both sides of the ball.
I don't know anyting but I just wonder how much confidence the players have in the coaching staff. I think that the offenseive play calling didn't help Lee at all. I know that you can't run all the time but how bout some short stuff in the passing game instead of trying to force things down field to Lafell. On defense, how bout letting our very atheletic secondary come up and cover somebody instead of playing 10 to 15 yards off of their guy?
Hopefully Jefferson and Lee can finish the season strong and gain some confidence in themselves. Hopefully Les Miles will be tough enough to make the decisions that need to be made in the coaching staff. This team digressed in many areas and i blame the coaches for that.

where is Travis and Richard from?

I may be a little biased but I think that Richards play stands for itself. His blocking to me is one of his strong points. He stays with his man and usually opens up big lanes for our running backs. The problem as of late is that every team that we play puts almost everyone up in the box and there are more guys to block than we have blockers for.
We will all see how good Richard is on draft day in 1 1/2 years. He was on pace to re-write the record books at LSU until our QB problems arose.
Richard and Travis spent most of their younger years in Texas. Their family is from south Mississippi and moved back in Richards freshman season in high school.
Travis is very comfortable at LSU and has known the coaches for 3 or 4 years. He will have plenty more offers coming and will probably take some visits. He is a real hard nosed player who plays every down full speed. He really shined at an LSU camp a few months ago at Tight End. The kid from Utah was there and Travis made him look very average. I think his name was Wilson........I'm not sure but LSU did offer him.

Thats saying a lot. If Richard will learn to block a little better he will see some playing time in the NFL.

Have you been watching the games! He may be the best blocking tight end in the SEC.

Travis will be a Tight End if he comes to LSU.
He is going in to his Junior season and we are having this discussion..........................................................................................................I would say that he is pretty good.
Remember, he is the single season reception leader in LSU history and did it as a sophomore.
