It would give us more ammo for Bama, if nothing else.

Interesting point. I can see that as a good argument in recruiting. "Our OC has as much, if not more, NFL experience than Saban, was left to clean up Saban's mess at Miami, and oh yeah, helped groom a QB named Brees that Saban passed on while at Miami."

That would at least counter the current thinking/myth that Saban's Alabama program is the most NFL like in the SEC.

I don't know how much any individual coach's presence sways a recruit. My guess is it's only a small piece of the overall package that a recruit an his family use to make the decision. Still, I think Cameron's presence would only be a positive in the recruiting process.

Sean Payton, while at the Giants, was benched from the very job that he's now considered a wizard at. Look at Bill Belichick and the Browns, Pete Carroll and the Patriots. NFL Coaches get fired and hired all the time.

Cameron being fired from the Ravens doesn't bother me. His body of work outweighs any one season for me.
Huggy Bear

About 2/3 of the way down it talks about this, with a memorable quote.

“He told me, "Don’t hug me on national TV,’” Montgomery recalled.

Scoring Defense: #4 (14.25 pts/gm)

This is the only defensive stat that counts in the end. I remember the LSU/OU national champ. game, and heading into halftime they interviewed Stoops and asked him about LSU's #1 defense. He said something about OU being the #1 defense, and that LSU was only #1 in scoring defense. I yelled at the TV that scoring defense is what counts. No one ever won a game by sheer yards alone.

As long as LSU stays in the top 5 when it comes to scoring defense, I won't care if they're dead last in all other categories.
