It would be awesome if he played in Bham, I would surely make it to his games.

Tigerfan in Bamaland....let me know if he does start with the Barrons. I recently just relocated from Baton Rouge to Birmingham. It'd be nice to see him play with other LSU fans.

La Tech had to cancel an entire weekend earlier this year, were they not available for random Tuesday or Wednesday?

I can tell you two things simply from having started my college baseball career at LC and then transferring to Tech....the LC players are probably floored by this opportunity as I'm sure you all could expect. Most of them probably have some tie to LSU and remain loyal fans. As far as Tech, I highly doubt we live to see the day Tech plays LSU with coach Simoneaux at the helm. He has a deep disliking for LSU that stems from his playing days at Nicholls and earlier coaching career at ULL. I could see him receiving a call from LSU about playing a game and literally laughing at the offer.

Radio apps on 4S to listen to game

Anyone know anyway possible to listen to game via iPhone other than geaux zone? TIA
"Laquvionte", is spanish for Honey Badger..

I literally laughed out loud. That's good shite right there.

If you don't mind me asking, who did he switch from. I don't follow recruiting to heavily and haven't heard anything on him.
I'm in Birmingham, they're covering it on the live radio show. Go to Jocks 94.5.com and you'll at least be able to hear it. Hope this helps.
Dean,

Who is your sister? My brother is a sophomore at CC and played football with Lloyd for the last three seasons.

I saw this kid play last season, they're in the same district as my brother who plays for Central Catholic. This kid is certainly a scat-back, and a very good one at that. I watched him litterally run around two kids that Central Catholic has being recruited by D1 schools. Size could be the issue with him, I realize he's only a sophomore so hopefully he continues to add height and mass. Easily one of the best running backs in class 1A this past year as only a sophomore. I don't have a single doubt that he'll play on Saturday's, it's going to be about what level he plays on.
I'm not saying he's 100% responsible for the loss. I'm simply saying I'm glad he's officially gone. I honestly have forgotten what it's like to not have quarterback drama surrounding our program.
We'll never have to witness Jefferson put on an LSU uniform again. I've been saying it all year long, no matter the outcome of this season, no matter if we would've won last night by 21....I will be so glad when this season is done due to the simple fact that the Jefferson/Lee saga is finally over. 4 seasons of this bullshite is finally over, and knowing what the QB depth chart looks like combined with who we have coming in, this part of the team looks as bright as it has in a while.

I think he got what he deserved. When you allow yourself to be involved with the off-the-field issues that he did, put a black eye on the program with your arrest, and then come back after the toughest stretch of the schedule is done only to climb into a spotlight...it's tough for me to justify him being deserving to lift a crystal ball. Don't confuse this for a second, I feel terrible for so many others on the team that because of a lot of Jefferson's shite lost a NC. But at the end of the day I think he deserved to finish his career in the shithouse, you reap what you sow, what goes around comes around, and I wish him luck at his grocery bagging career.

Here's to a new chapter in LSU's Quarterback book! Thank God we're finally turning the page!
I haven't shite since last Wednesday, I've dipped a can of skoal already this morning, and I just pulled out the flask in my desk to ease my anxiety. I'm stuck here till 5. FML.

Absolutely incredible advice

My wife is from Birmingham. Her parents and 4 siblings still reside there. We go there every year for different holidays and I'll be headed up there tomorrow. I honestly can't wait to drive through Alabama with my gameday flags flying off of the window seals. Fortunately enough, because my wife is an LSU alum, her parents are HUGE LSU fans. I don't have to hear any crap while we're visiting, we actually talk about the psycho neighbors and her parents' coworkers and how they can't stand LSU. But boy it'll get bad when we go out in public, especially when my wife and I wear LSU apparel (which I plan to do every day while we're there). There's nothing like rubbing shite in the faces of people you've beaten and plan to beat twice. They get so bitter and use the lamest excuses for past defeats it's hillarious.

Kwon Alexander-Post Visit

Posted by Birdieputts17 on 10/25/11 at 9:20 am
Anyone have any information on if Kwon enjoyed his visit this past weekend? With the information regarding him being back-burned by bama, and the way Saturday afternoon went for us, I thought I'd see him commit to us on Sunday. Nonetheless, any info would be greatly appreciated.

:geauxtigers:
I'm not an LSU alum, my wife is. I didn't go to LSU because I had a baseball scholarship to a smaller in-state school that I earned a degree from. I went to my first football game at age 8 and have lost count of how many I've attended since. Even when I was in college I would come into Baton Rouge during the fall and attend home games in Baton Rouge. My point is that even though I attended college somewhere else, being from south Louisiana, LSU is in my blood. I have uncles, aunts, and cousins that have attended LSU that don't follow the school like I do. It's my choice to follow something, to support something, and to be a fan of something. For me, it's LSU. Don't get me wrong I still love and support my alma mater. I talk about how I enjoyed my time there all the time. But I'm an LSU fan, it's what I choose to support. If someone confronts me about not being a "true fan" because my undergrad didn't come from LSU, I'll simply say that they're the type of people that make our fan base look bad. Simple as that.
I posted this earlier on another Phillips related subject. I spoke with someone extremely closely related to Phillips' high school football program and the word is that it's only a matter of time before he switches his commitment. This is absolutely fantastic news and it's not nearly as far fetched as some others on this board think it is.
I'll say this, and it comes directly from an inside source to Phillips' football program, it's only a matter of time before he drops Florida. The idea of playing for Chavis and one of (if not the) best defenses in the country in his back yard has turned his thoughts significantly.

Hence why I said "the next 4 games after Kentucky."

Next 4 Games (post Kentucky)

Posted by Birdieputts17 on 9/26/11 at 9:47 am
After Kentucky, I'd like to think that the next four game stretch is tougher than the first 4 we just came out of. With the exception of getting two home games out of the next 4, I feel Florida and Alabama will be the toughest two games we will have played to that point (possibly all year). Glad we get the gators in BR. I think it's pretty safe to say that if we walk into Tuscaloosa unbeaten, that game will be the biggest in the country for the 11/12 season. But before it even gets replied, first things first, one game at a time, take care of Kentucky before this stretch. It's a great time to be an LSU fan.
You beat the quick drop passing game by playing press coverage at the line of scrimmage. Jamming guys off the line makes the quarterback hesitate or flushes him, both of those factors play into LSU's favor with the speed of our defensive ends and linebackers. A lot of people will say that if you play press coverage you risk getting beat deep. I think this also plays into LSU's favor for 2 reasons, it's going to make Smith hold the ball for that much longer, and because of the ability of our corners and safeties on the deep ball.

I too think the game will be close, but I think we come out on top. Honestly, I'm more concerned about us putting up points that WV.
