re: Trip to Norman for LSU-Oklahoma series
Posted by Tony Perkis on 3/7/25 at 12:27 am to Jack Crevalle
I live in OKC so plan on making all the games. Like others have said Norman doesn't have too much to offer. Campus Corner is ok and has a few bars and places to eat/drink before the game. We actually went there before the OU-LSU basketball game and had no trouble getting a table 2 hours before the game. The main downside is that its on the other side of campus as the stadium, would be about a 45 minute walk if you chose to do so.
For a traditionally solid baseball team with some historical success their stadium is kind of terrible. They just invest all their money in softball and that stadium is great. I work with a ton OU alumni/boosters and they just don't care about baseball for some reason. They made a few renovations before the season to the stadium but it's still a very small ball park with a capacity around 4,000.

re: What happened to Louisiana Tech Football?
Posted by Tony Perkis on 9/2/23 at 1:21 pm to KillTheGophers
Lack of administrative support is definitely part of it.
Tech used to benefit immensely from just being able to recruit the I20 corridor and louisiana and find some gems that slipped through the cracks. Now with transfer portal and NIL any of said gems are jumping ship for a pay day as soon as they make a name for themselves. Techs best WR went to Mississippi state and our star LB is now at Tulane. I just don’t see any way tech can become competitive in todays CFB landscape unless the Davidsons or some big booster just starts dumping money at the program

Looks like Todd Graves came through. Now he is at 49k
re: CollegeBaseballCentral sources: Hurd starting
Posted by Tony Perkis on 6/26/23 at 1:56 pm to FriscoTiger1973
If it is true. Hopefully the shadows help Hurd like they helped floyd. That heater was on them before they knew what hit them. And if it helps to mask his breaking ball just a split second all the better. Skenes doesn’t really need the shadows to be dominant and no doubt if he comes in under the lights and with the adrenaline will be as dominant as ever

I thought Cj McCollum was in it too for about 30 minutes then looked at the credits and realized it was just Jaleel white

If we really did strike out last night after the game with Riley, shouldn’t we expect the Lsu jets to be wheels up bright and early? Makes me think we already have our guy.
re: Rice defeats LOL Tech, 35-31. Bulldogs blew a 10 Point Lead w Ball & 6 Minutes to go.

Its only fitting that Holtz goes out and loses his last game by blowing a 4th quarter lead.
re: This team needs Michael Thomas back so badly.
Posted by Tony Perkis on 9/24/21 at 7:58 pm to tigersquad89
The most important aspect of having thomas back is the very thing we make fun of him for. Having “slant boy” back not only provides a receiver that is reliable but also offers a quick and reliable option that would allow Winston a quick pass if we continue to struggle with blitz pick ups. As soon as you show you can beat the blitz teams become less aggressive and would in turn allow or other less experienced receivers time to beat a db.

Looks like data is showing 10 second peak wind of approximately 125 mph right now on the plane as it’s still tracking towards the eye
If Trump was reinstated how long would he serve his term?
Posted by Tony Perkis on 6/23/21 at 4:39 pm
Purely hypothetical at this point. Would he merely just finish out the remainder of Biden’s term or would he get 4 years from that point on. I would think 4 years but that would definitely change up the election cycle.

The only good thing about the trailer was the short bits of the sound track from the original.
re: In all honesty if cook don't fumble

That clearly was a turning point. Honestly tho if the saints capitalize off the first punt return and we don’t have the pointless block in the back on the td return it’s a completely different game. Arians would over react like always, abandon the run and allow our d line to put their ears back and get after Brady. Even with some balance they couldn’t muster long sustained drives and only scored off turnovers.
We “lost” that game at multiple points last night. And it took every single one of those things for tb to leave with a w. One of those go our way and we are worrying about how brees will be throwing in freezing lambeau this weekend.

Also the clips they showed of her at the practice facility leading up to the game you can clearly tell she is practicing squib kicks and the coach even tells her “it’s ok if it goes out of bounds.”.
re: Best athlete you've ever competed against?

Chad Jones and Southern Lab ended our football season in the playoffs his Sr year. Chad Jones running out there against 1A kids was like watching a madden created player. Someone that size shouldn’t be that fast. It was unfair.
