Amy Winehouse Rehab (Ghost Hawk Remix)

I don't know how I stumbled upon this relatively obscure remix, but I've heard nothing else that brings out the pain in her voice like this one.

Here are a few.

Late for the Sky

Gravity

Vincent

So Far Away

Beethoven Piano Sonata 23, 2nd Movement

For the last one, I highly recommend listening to the entire thing if you don't know it; it's kind of a journey through perfection, as is the whole sonata. I would say it builds. Here's a version that's a bit less rushed:

Nights In White Satin - moody blues

One of my all time favorites--it's actually a love song.

Van Morrison - Into the Mystic

One of my favorite songs of all-time.

My other nominee is not so much the song as it is this single performance:

Van Morrison - Wavelength Live at Montreux 1980

I think they were just too damned big there for awhile (not the new BS of the 80s or so), and kind of suffered an overexposure backlash, from which they never recovered.

They are renowned and revered, by many. Many (probably not 35 year olds and younger, however).
