Hasling Properties manages the building I am in and they do a good job.

Steven Hasling runs the business with his son, Matt.

looking to upgrade to lithium batteries for my trolling motor. the cost differential between different brands is hard to understand. Are the Dakota brand lithium batteries that much better than Ionic batteries (just to use two examples). am I missing something regarding the quality of the different brands and will eventually regret not spending more money?

if it matters, I only fish saltwater in the Dulac/Cocodrie area.

thanks in advance for any help.

forecast is 10 - 15 knot winds with 2 - 4 foot seas.

going to be a rough ride offshore. be safe
Thanks for the input. It is a 3 way switch. Center is off, forward is all lights. Back is anchor/white light.

I will try some the suggestions and see if they work.
I have a rocker switch for the anchor light and what should be the running lights. Problem is when I switch on the running lights only the bow light comes on. Both lights work but not at the same time. is there an easy fix to this problem?

thanks

Selling a used outboard

Any suggestions on where and/or how to sell a 2008 Yamaha 225 - series 2? Motor is still on the boat in the Houma area.

Never have tried to do this and don’t really know where to start.

Thanks for ant advice.
LINK Iatt lake near colfax has kayaks to rent.
Vacuum seal

Agreed. Have mine vacuum sealed and never have a problem.
Fishing a tournament down there next month. First time to fish the marsh in that area. I have been getting some pointers about where to fish on both the east side and west side of the river. Any recommendations for which side of the river I would be better off fishing for the 9 lb slot redfish that you read about in that area?

thanks in advance.
I was at Got Bait last weekend and they were going strong. Had minnows and shrimp. Don't think they have closed down in the last week.

Phone number is 985-856-9414 if you want to call. If George is out shrimping he won't answer but will usually call you back later.

Fields of yellow flowers

Driving between New Iberia and Morgan City on Hwy 90 there are fields of yellow flowers that appear to be deliberately planted. Can someone tell me what these are for?

Thanks

See if your buddy will tell you the general area where they caught their fish. We were down Grand Calliou in the Little Lewis Bayou area.
Had a 6.5 and a 6.2 but that’s not going to win anything in this tournament. Still had lots of fun. Congrats to your buddy. There are some serious guides and pros who fish this tournament. 106 boats total.
if you are fishing this weekend, IFA posted this earlier this afternoon.

Anglers fishing the IFA Houma Event, the captains meeting is at the Falgout Marina at the IFA trailer; NOT the Marriott Hotel.
Going to give it another shot this year. Scouted the area today and Barry really did a number on areas of the marsh down Grand Calliou.
Dock Holiday

Weighed in a 6.5 and a 4.5. Finished 61st out of 101 boats. Not bad for a weekend warrior fishing against pros. But had a blast getting ready for the tournament. The boats these guys fish in a amazing. My Skeeter doesn’t compare. Blast off Saturday morning with over 100 boats, 90% with 10 foot towers was a sight. Driving down Falgout canal at 40 mph and get passed like I am standing still by some 20 foot flats boats that are dancing on the surface. Don’t know where the winners fished but they were over 18 pounds. Thanks again for the advice about keeping the livewell water cool. It helped.

Side note, keeping 2 upper slot reds alive all day in this heat is going to take some babby sitting of your fish. A dead fish is a 0.5 lb penalty. 2 dead fish is a 2 lb penalty.

I was planning on bringing some ice packs to help keep the water at a less than boiling point temperature

thanks again for all the suggestions, I am heading down this weekend to see if I can find some decent size fish.
Thanks,

I’ve been watching some of the YouTube videos of past tournaments and how these guys go out and catch 17 plus pounds for two fish under 27 inches is amazing. Like you suggested just going to have fun and hopefully learn a little fro the guys there.
Signed up with a buddy to fish this. Just wondering what to expect.
