Any suggestions on where and/or how to sell a 2008 Yamaha 225 - series 2? Motor is still on the boat in the Houma area.

Never have tried to do this and don’t really know where to start.

Thanks for ant advice.

Just repowered my Frontier and listed old motor on FB marketplace. Even with a bad cylinder interest was off the charts. Guy venmoed me the money upfront then went to the shop where the motor was on a pallet. Never even met him.

I'd definitely leave it on the boat if possible. You can give a test ride to the would be buyer to clear up any doubt any maybe get a little more for it or just make the sale easier?

Solid post, I'm sure you'll get a few bites

I’m about to put one for sale myself. Been boat shopping and throwing up pretty regularly at the stupidity of the prices. I’ve decided to polish the old bitch up, give her new ponies, new saddles and roll with her. Have yet to see an 18.5 / 19 footer I like better so

Marketplace. Craigslist is all lookey lous and scammers. Be prepared to get rid of it quick...lots of folks looking for motors. Leave it on the boat as long as possible...it will sell for more money if you can run it WOT instead of ear muffs.
