Thanks all. I think we'll skip Perkins Rowe all together.

Grill Room at Perkins Rowe

Can't seem to find a thread about this on the site, but I know there are folks who have been to the Grill Room. Looking for a place to take a group of about 10 Tuesday night and thought someplace in Perkins Rowe would be nice. Appreciate your help/comments.
"As determined by advertising budget with the magazine"

Not actually true. I was Marketing Director for DeAngelo's for 2 years. We never advertised in 225 except in the Best Of issue. We were voted as Best Salads every year by the readers. Since leaving DeAngelo's, I was selected to take part in the voting. Don't know about other publications, but 225's Best Of doesn't depend on advertising budgets.

Thanks for the info. We'll be dining there on Friday. Food is always good at the original location and I expect no less. Besides, I love the mango margaritas.

Does anyone know if it's opened yet? I heard they were shooting for last weekend, but don't know if they did.

Have never been, but comments here make me want to go. Lunches are difficult. Is Opie's open in the evening? And, Opie, if we come tonight, will you still have the redfish Martini mentioned?

re: ever had a drink called...

We serve Firefly with a splash of lemonade at DeAngelo's. When we came up with it, we wanted to call it a Drunken Palmer, since it tastes just like an Arnold Palmer. However, we're a family restaurant,so we called it the Front Swing...cuz it's good for sipping while visting.
That's true about Opie and BrokenEgg and everyone here respects them both. Just judging from what I know about our restaurants, I would suspect that the people who push their establishments shamelessly are likely servers or cooks or other staff that don't have the authority to act as an "official voice" of a particular establishment. But, they are trying to earn brownie points with the boss and get him/her some free publicity, so they post as though they are John Q. Public. Just my thoughts.
Well, not that I've "outted" myself, I suppose I can feel free to comment. After reading this board daily for six months, I feel as though I know half of you. I shall "fear not" and post.
I work for a restaurant and we advertised on TD for six months. I've been monitoring this board since last June because it's an opportunity to see what people are saying about restaurants in the Baton Rouge area. I don't post because some of you can be vicious in your comments and I didn't want to get into a battle with anyone. I was tempted to tell everyone when we started serving Firefly, since it was such a hot topic for a week or so, but I just posted an ad instead. However, if someone is looking for a place to eat and you own or manage a restaurant that satisfies that need, I don't see why anyone objects to having that restaurant mentioned.
Chili's is open. We go every year between church service and a late party.

We don't eat out very often, but my son graduates from LSU next Friday and we want to go out for lunch. Can you make some suggestions? Preferably a place that takes reservations since I'm certain most places will be crowded. Also, I'm a single mom and can't spend a mint on the meal. Suggestions?

Dumb question, but is the Popeye's turkey available at any Popeye's location?
