t really sucks that LSU has to play FLA every single year. Who came up with this?

Yeah, it really sucks. Because we play each other every year, there is no way either of us can win the National Championship. Just look at the past 2 years....er....wait....never mind.

my favorite thing about Gainesville wa the fact that they had a giant banner going across University avenue pimping the Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgender Pride Festival

Hey, if that's your cup of tea...."Not that there is anything wrong with it"

No idea why the choppers were out. I've never seen that before. Something else must have been going on.

It's disappointing to hear about these negative experiences. Hopefully, they were the minority.

stadium- it was loud, but no louder than tiger stadium. I felt it would be louder if you guys filled that void in that endzone. I didn't like all the music being played in the stadium throughout the game.

I'm not a fan of the music either. That shite started only a year or two ago. Feels "Area football" to me.

2 bits - It's kinda hard to explain. He's pretty old now and only does the pre-game thing. In years past, he would work his way around the stadium hitting every section. You'd be sitting there during a TV time out and hear the whistle. Everyone within earshot would join in. It's just tradition. He also it embodiment of unconditional support for your team. He started doing the cheer in the 40's after hearing the fans boo the players. He could not believe that adults would boo kids trying their best. 2-bits was the only cheer he knew so he started doing it. It's a lesson a lot of us (college football fans) should learn.

Experience in Gainesville?

Well, I know y'all are not happy with the actual game, but what you the game day experience?

There was a lot a talk about how hard the cops were on open container and inside the stadium. Did anyone have issues?

I hope y'all had a good time during the day. One of the tailgates that I spent time at was 1/2 gators and 1/2 tigers. Everyone was have a great time.

I also hope you guys don't win the West because I want no part in playing you again in Atlanta (if we are so fortunate).

Of the play vs. UF in the 90s when the snap went over Wuerffel's or Johnson's head, bounced right into his hands, and he threw it for a TD. You just knew that it was UF's day. When Harvin got that tip, I knew that it was UF's day.

If it is the play I am thinking about, it was Rex Grossman.

re: Gainesville Bars

The Purple Porpoise, may it rest it peace, is now called Gator City. Across University Ave from the stadium, there are about 30 bars. Any one of them will be just fine. The names are:

The Swamp (a restaurant/bar, not the stadium)
Gator City
Balls
Copper Monkey
Grog House

i like your corners....but like ours they are young....question is how good are they in run support? adn why did marikh anderson get demoted...who plays safety opposite rev wright

Ahmad Black is the other safty. Anderson has been battling injuries for a few years now. I think that is what is holding him back.

You mean the guy who changed his # so he could have a new identity and a fresh start after being abused last year. It's true the kid changed his #.

A true freshman who was sharing a number with a back up quarterback changed his number the next year? Wow! That's never happened before! I guess he was not man enough to take #5 away from 5th year senior, Bubba Caldwell.

I guess Harvin was so embarrassed my his freshman year that he changed from 8 to 1 his soph year.

I guess at LSU, freshman get whatever number they want day one?

I'll save you the trouble:

A LIMITED amount of student tickets may be upgraded for non-student use every Friday of a home football game week at the Student Ticket Office (Gate 13 of the stadium). Once a ticket is upgraded, a UF Gator1 ID Card will not have to be shown at the stadium gates to use the ticket.

Students who wish to take part in this upgrade process must pay the difference of $30 to the Student Ticket Office each Friday (8:30 am to 5 p.m.) of every home game week. These upgrades are limited, however, so be sure to get to the STO as early as possible. ONLY parents of current UF students and friends of UF students who attend another college/university may use an upgraded ticket.

Students looking to upgrade MUST be present with their most current Gator1 ID card. One student with a valid ID card can upgrade up to two (2) student tickets for a total of $60.

re: What would you do?

You do need a student ID to use a student tix, I think you can "upgrade" the ticket to a guest tix but I think a student has to do it.

As far as sitting in the UF student section, as long as you are not an Ahole, you'll be fine.
Honkus - Did you read my post in the ticket thread before calling me a douche?

iambigwilley- Before the Miami game last month, a couple of cops on bikes rolled up to our tailgate and started carding. Two chicks got arrested. Out of the 60 people there, they must have been the only two underage. The good news is that they were released with a court date, not taken to jail. Oh, and they were Gators.

Maybe I'm getting old but I use the actual game to sober up some. As for walking around outside the stadium, here's what I do..

I got to a place like Subway (gas stations have then too) and get one of those hard plastic cups with a hard plastic top and straw. Fill with Coke and Rum and walk around with no issues. Then again, I wear Orange and Blue.
Hey, I'm they guy that made the original post on the GSMB.

Here's what I was told:

I called the ticket office on Monday asking if there were going to be any last minute tickets released. I was told "Yes, actually there are quite a bit of them, over a thousand. They go on sale Wed morning at 8:30 am." I asked if the were tickets that LSU returned. "Yes."

This morning I called and got 6 tickets. I was asked if I wanted them in the North endzone, lower level OR the SE corner. She told me that those were in the LSU section. I picked the North Endzone.

Now, I have a hard time believing that LSU returned tickets. I'm not sure what is going on here. I doubt the girl was lying. Maybe she was just misinformed. The Tickets I got are not visitor tix. Could be CBS tix like some suggested. Who knows?

Also, I see that we charge you $45 per ticket. I'm glad we are not A holes and jack up the price for visitors. UT charges us $90 face value!
