Ok one more... I'm working on getting bigger & stronger. My weight is up to 182. When I started HS I was 154 so I've made progress! I've been told my body can carry another 20 lbs without losing too much speed. Coach Moffitt sent me the LSU workout book this summer (WOW! talk about a lot of stuff!) I've been using it since mid June. I realize it's going to be a big difference at the college level but I'm up to the challenge.

Ok... I'm gone for real this time. Gotta cut the grass before my mom try to give me a whipping!

Geaux Tigers!
Ok. BIG THANKS FOR THE LOVE! Gotta go cut grass and get ready for practice 2morrow. We start 2- a days 7am in the morning.

This was pretty fun. Maybe I'll try it again soon.

Geaux Tigers!

No breakdancing here but I can do the ATL 2 step!

U r funny!
Yes! I'm 100% solid. LSU is where I want to be and what's best for me. I don't even talk to other schools/coaches. My HS coach doesn't give me mail anymore and the mail that comes to my house I throw away... except LSU mail!
Hopefully I'm not breaking rules. I'm just having a convo with friends! Plus I'm not even typing!! Again, Ms. Edwards is working the keyboard.
Our HS offense still run a lot of different sets out of the WingT. We ran the "I" my Fr & So years under Coach Ballard- Kevin Minter's coach now.

I just wanna get in where I fit in at LSU!

By the way, I got Branden Smith (Washington High/ATL) number and will talk to him later. He has LSU in his top 5.

I got much love for Mike Scar. He has treated me very nice.
I try to hit the hole and go! Our HS runs the wing-t so I get the ball on the move alot but we are asked to run inside and block too. I gotta work on my blocking a little more!

On defense I've been working more at our field corner spot. Last year I worked in at our "pony" spot which is like an extra strong safety. We run a 3-3-5 on defense.
Yeah... yall are hitting me up pretty hard so I got Ms. Edwards to type for me!

I plan to major in Kinesiology... HOPEFULLY!
I have not met Russell yet. I do talk to Willie Ferrell and Kevin Minter often. I also try to stay in contact with Kevin Sheppard, Perry Riley & Chad Jones. They showed me around the 2 times I visited. I looked forward to meeting Trindon because I can learn a lot from him.
My choice came pretty easy but I did get a lot of flack locally. My high school has a great connection with UGA. FL & Bama were in the running too.

Coach Peveto recruited me and with Coach Miles blessing they have allowed me to try an offensive position first. I don't have a problem with going on the defense but offense is what I've played the most in HS.
Drayton is here in my office and will be available for 20-30 mins PROVIDED TIGER NATION BE GENTLE!

No... Not Drayton's dad - I'm Chris Beck's dad & VP of Tucker's QB Club. A local LSU alum turned me on to this site and I just wanted to get the correct info out there. Once our kids make their collegiate decision, we still try to assist with the dissemination of accurate information. We do it while they're here at Tucker, once they go off to college & even if they get the opportunity at the next level... e.g. tuckertigersfootball.com

Accurate Drayton Calhoun Update

On Monday morning (7/28) during Tucker High's preseason testing, Drayton was timed in the 40 yrd dash 3 times. Results were: 4.25 (Walt Issacs/area HS scout), 4.27 (Tucker Coaches) & 4.31 (Jon Moore/Razor Sharp trainer). The 4.25 & 4.27 were hand-timed and the 4.31 was laser. The 4.48 time that is listed on Rivals.com is the time his former coach (Bill Ballard - currently LSU commit, Kevin Minter's coach at Peachtree Ridge(GA) submitted during the start of his freshman year after he returned from an impressive camp at Syracuse). Coach Ballard wanted to downplay his accurate speed in order to let him continue to grow & develop without pressure. Drayton has NEVER attended a Rivals.com, Scout.com or Nike.com combine even though he has been invited to all three!

On a side note, if getting a young man who is humble, hard working & focused on the good of the team -- then Drayton is your guy. He's not one that's going to spend time talking about what he did or can do... he's just going to go out and work to get the job done & not beat his chest when finish. He spent summer taking 2 classes to ensure his early graduation and training with the likes of Thomas Brown (former Tucker & UGA rb), Asher Allen (former Tucker & current UGA cb), Myke Compton (former Tucker & current LaTech rb) & 2 weeks in Tallahassee with Willie Ferrell (current LSU commit) & William Evers (Tallahassee area trainer & former Fla. A&M teammate of his cousin/guardian).

After his Feb. commit to LSU, Drayton requested that his HS coach throw away any mail from other schools that arrived from that point forward! He said that he was firm in his commitment & would be enrolling at LSU in Jan. '09. It's still hard to really know how kids will pan out, but we think you're getting a good one!
