re: What important truth do very few people agree with you on?

Evolution is a scientific fact.
Evolution is the reason why you have to get a flu shot every year and not just once like other vaccines. The virus changes (evolves) over time.

Eating straight tailed crawfish won't make you sick and are just fine.
Canned beer that is hot then cold the hot then cold doesn't go "skunk" and tastes just the same.
The "waiting list" for Saints season tickets doesn't actually exist.

America. And there are men and women, better than me, willing to die for my unalienable right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.

That's Amore is pretty dang good. My experience is they take longer than average to prepare the pie. Just a heads up if you're dining in with kids.

Domenica, hands down, has the best professional happy hour in the city.
re: LLC question for rental property purchase

FWIW, in South Louisiana, homeowners insurance companies are sometimes funny about writing policies to LLCs. That was my experience at least (I have USAA). I have my rental property in my name, but added an additional $1mm personal liability umbrella policy.
Something to think about.

Anyone know if this place is open yet? If so, anyone been? According to Twitter, they had their soft opening last week. Was thinking about checking it out after work. Thanks.
New Years Resolutions
Posted by YouCantSeeMe on 12/24/12 at 10:15 am
My 2013 resolution is to try and drink 100 different beers in one year.
I usually try and do a food or drink related resolution each year. Any of you FDB'ers do the same? I'm looking for alternative (or additional) ideas.

Ended up going to TGIFridays. Good time. Vince Young was there. Thanks for the advice.

bschlessel, thanks for the recommendations. I'll definitely give one of those a try. Are any of those walking distance from Union Square? If I'm cabbing, are any of those walking distance to each other so I can get a few birds with one stone? If not and you had to pick one, what would it be? Thanks again.

Can you get Russian River beers anywhere in San Fran? Is it similar to Abita in Louisiana in that respect or do I need to go to a beer bar?

I'm not necessarily looking to "go out", just some place with a good selection of local beers and where I can comfortably go solo. Chimes in BR would be a good benchmark.
Any beer recommendations would be great too. Reading really good things about anything from Russian River Brewing Co.

Looking for drinking advice (San Francisco)

Heading to San Francisco next week and looking for some cool beer bars that I need to check out. Also looking for recommendations on beers that I can't get in Louisiana and must try before I leave. All suggestions welcome.
Staying at the Palace Hotel (Market and 2nd) in the Union Square / SOMA neighborhood. Won't have a car but not scared of walking.

Denver lunch spot - looking for recommendations
Posted by YouCantSeeMe on 8/15/12 at 12:05 pm
I'm looking for a good lunch spot in Denver. Nothing fancy, just something besides the chains on 16th. I'm at 17th and Lawrence and don't have a car. I can't booze at lunch so that rules out the attractiveness of a lot of brewpubs. Denver Biscuit Company looks interesting but I'm not sure it's worth cabbing out to. All recommendations welcome, appreciate the help.

That's about the price of a Cane's box. Sounds reasonable to me.

re: Taking Clients out for Dinner and Drinks

Few thoughts coming from someone who entertains and is entertained regularly:
1.) If I was said client and I got the impression you were lying to me or trying to pull a fast one on me, I would never do business with you. Even with something as stupid as having drinks or drinking, if you try to deceive your client, they will wonder what else that deceit will carry over to. Don't order a tonic and tell everyone it's vodka.
2.) If I'm you, and my getting this client's business depends on whether or not your drink, it's not a customer you want. I enjoy drinking and I enjoy drinking in business. However, I would never do business with people because they're "cool" or because I like drinking with them. I do business with people that are good at what they do...regardless of their personal decision to drink or not.
To qualify my post, I've gotten drunker than Cooter Brown with clients and people who I'm a client of. However, when I'm driving myself or others to and from a work event, I have 0 drinks. I could care less if those that I'm with think that's awkward or less attractive to do business with.
Drink what you want and own it.

Head south on Causeway. Under the Causeway overpass @ Metairie Rd. Get a roast beef at Bear's PoBoy's at Genaro's. Some argue the best in the New Orleans area.
Dog Food Reccomendation
Posted by YouCantSeeMe on 5/5/12 at 10:22 pm
I have a 75 lb, 3 1/2 yo female yellow lab. She doesn't hunt but she is active and stays fit. I'm looking for a grain free dog food recommendation and figured you jokers would have some advice.
About a year ago she started chewing her paws and licking her hind quarters. It's not enough to give her raw spots or missing patches of hair, but it's enough to annoy me and certainly can't be comfortable for her. I've been changing foods, hoping to avoid medicine. I've tried:
Purina One - Large Breed (Chicken based)
Nutro - Lamb and Rice
Fromm - Duck and Sweet Potatoe
Reading online it looks like grain is what usually causes allergies in labs. Today I bought a bag of:
Fromm - Beef Frittata Veg (Grain Free Entree)
Has anyone had any experience with this food or have any other natural (non medicine) solutions? Thanks in advance.
