Johnny and Butch could never work together. They came out of La. as the top two point guards the same year and there has always been a bit of a rivarly. Johnny has always gone with the Dale Brown camp and Butch was a Brady guy. Those two camps do not mix. Randy Livingston is a possibility and Gary Duhe also, but Johnny will probably bring his No. 1 assistant from N. Texas.

The budget cuts affecting the school do not affect the athletic department directly because the athletic department does not receive money from the state. . .
. . . BUT, in this climate of massive school cuts, it is more than likely systems president John Lomabardi will not let the AD fire a coach with FOUR YEARS on his contract and have to pay him $15 million, especially when he wins 8 games a year and is/was the winningest coach in school history wioth a national championship. It would be a public relations disaster for the school and the state, and it doesn't matter how you break up the payments.
Les is under contract through 2014. That is a fact. His buyout is his full compensation, not just the base salary, meaning $3.751 million per remaining years. That is a fact.
The best you can hope for is that they try to talk Les into leaving, retiring, with some sort of compromised settlement. Maybe his family is tired of the ridicule they face, which is way more painful than what LSU fans feel.

Ross is a better match for UCI because he pounds the strike zone and UCI batters never swing. They try to draw walks and get the pitch count up. They won't swing at high fastballs from Ranaudo and he'll throw 100 pitches by the fifth inning.

There is no mention of Forrest having played a year at LSU in the Arkansas media guide, or the post season guide.
It goes from high school to Bossier CC with no stats.

I'd heard two stories on Cantrelle. One that he beat up a guy in a bar and broke the guy's collarbone. Another was that he beat up a cop and that's what got him off the team.
