Used zero turn
Posted by Bout_dat on 4/9/26 at 1:43 pm
I have a very gently used Scag Cheetah ii, 72 inch deck. < 200 engine hours and garage kept. Only used to cut 1 residential lot. Any recommendations, besides Facebook marketplace, on where to list it?

I personally love my SWG. Had a tab feeder. Cost along with managing CYA levels were my motivation. To each his own but I can vouch for SWG use. If you decide to get SWG, buy a one rated for a much bigger pool, if possible. TFP can explain all the reasons why that may be helpful.

Cost is upfront. 40# bag of salt is usually around $10. I use maybe 2-3 bags per year to keep my salt level at goal. I have 15k gallon pool. Initial salt load will be about 8-10 bags for you. Will use more MA with SWG but still cost is very economical. Only caveat is that SWG will not work with water temp < 55 or so. I use a few pucks with a floater in those occasions.

Liquid or tabs? I buy MA from Ace. Liquid chlorine from Walmart or Pinch a Penny in bulk. TFP will push salt vs liquid chlorine. Testing and pool care is less 20 min per week with drop testing, brushing and robotic vacuum doing most of the work. I buy salt from ACE as well. I spend < $25 a month with my SWG.
Wood windows

Any recommendations on someone that can re-glaze wood windows in the Baton Rouge area? Trying to avoid just replacement, if possible.

Another failed Louisiana experiment. In order to get the state tax benefit, you need to use their junk program that now most likely got hacked. Very little information coming out on this. Would be great to have the tax benefits with reputable firms such as Vanguard. Don’t worry, “accounts are insured”
Anyone know a place locally to get hemp for livestock, chicken coops, etc? Online prices are outrageous, especially with shipping costs. Any ideas would be appreciated.
Easy replacement. Make sure to buy the correct fit as they have different shapes that fit into the seal groove. Silicon lubricants make pulling the new seal much easier.
Check your flow sensor. A faulty flow sensor may read salt as zero.
Any recs for BR area?
Any recommendations on companies to hire to do this type of work?
Any of you southern Louisiana pool owners doing anything special for this winter storm? For the last few winter storms, I have just let my VSF freeze protection keep the pump flowing 24/7 with our two fountains and spitters. Does the snow projection change anything for you? Any thoughts are appreciated.
Are there any ready to spray pre-emergents?
