To preface this: I am from the Northshore area and I have not really traveled too much around this state besides visiting New Orleans frequently. Baton Rouge is such a shitty place to live. I was in the downtown library today overlooking the main square and about half of the people I saw in the library and nearby were homeless. I saw black shirtless man just yelling to no one in particular looking like he was getting ready to fight someone in the middle of the square. Also in the library there was a person with no shoes on sleeping and fidgeting like she was on drugs. It was really uncomfortable being there as I had to constantly look over my shoulder to ensure no one was coming toward me. And I was supposed to be in the 'nice' part of the city literally blocks away from my state's capitol building. Louisiana has major problems and I think Baton Rouge exemplifies Louisiana's problems.
