word from Michigan is that this is the meeting where they offered him the job and an "anti-Saban" strategy that would allow him to leave Baton Rouge. (i.e. didn't lie as things have now changed-no offer from Mich then but have one now-it's home/my alma mater--and it's less money-which the offer is by design less than the LSU base salary to offset the argument that it is all about the money) rumors? probably but at this stage who the hell knows...

If you think the call Friday, the visit Saturday and the call yesterday were only to solict Miles' advice....hard to believe this much effort, this quickly to simply extend a courtesy. Rumor here is an offer was made....probably rumor but makes for interestting fodder...

You may be right and he's not leaving Baton Rouge--the rumors here (earlier today) were that the President/AD/Miles+agent were in talks on how to do "spin" if he took the offer....the "anti-Saban" strategy if you will....they'll argue it's different--he was being honest, but things changed, dream job/coming home--it's not about the money (which is why rumor had base salary offer slightly lower, by design, than current salary at LSU) rumor? probably but it should be an interesting week....

Word here in Ann Arbor is things are moving quickly--I'm no insider but all the talk here is that a formal offer has been made to Miles. Information about the President/AD call to Miles on Friday, the Schiano talks, etc.--all the information was coming at a pretty good (if filtered) rate and then Today after the info earlier this evening that an offer was made the info just "dried up"--now the silence here is deafening! What to make of all this?? who knows??
