The Triangle LSU Alumni Association will have our annual crawfish boil on May 17th at Montegue Lake. If you want some information, let me know.
Well first of all I'm not a dude  So should I have said crawdads, mud bugs or what. And yes, I have lived in Raleigh since Jan 1986 and still miss LA :wah:
Oh, duh crawfish, yeah maybe I have been in NC too long

Hey, we do have an alumni association in Raleigh. We're having a Mardi Gras party on 2/15 and our crayfish boil is on 5/17. Most people around here call Cary Concentrated Area [of] Relocated Yankees like someone else noted. Our web site is geauxtriangle.com. We also have view ins during football season. We'd love to have you join us!

The Raleigh,NC alumni assoication will be @ Carolina Ale House in Brier Creek. We are on the back patio and ask for Paul, he's the president. I'm the secretary but I'll be in Aruba that weekend, trying to find somewhere to watch there! Hope you can come join us.
jimlsu1 - I'll be in Aruba for the Alabama game. Did you find a place to watch the game?

Raleigh, NC has a new view in location - Carolina Ale House in Brier Creek
I read somewhere it was a Lisfranc fracture. I think it was on the Advocate.
The Lisfranc fracture is a fracture and dislocation of the joints in the midfoot, where a cluster of small bones forms an arch on top of the foot between the ankle and the toes. From this cluster, five long bones, the metatarsals, extend until the toes. It is named after 18th- and 19th-century surgeon and gynecologist Jacques Lisfranc de St. Martin."
Treatment options include operative or non-operative treatment. If the dislocation is less than 2 mm, the fracture can be managed with casting for 6 weeks. The patient's injured limb cannot bear weight during this period. For operative treatment, screws +/- k-wire will be used for internal fixation of the fracture after closed or more likely open reduction. Again, the patient's injured limb should not bear weight for approximately 6-12 weeks. The screws/k-wires are usually removed later, sometimes before weight bearing.

That quote is from Cam, not his father/Cecil. I saw it on Sports Center last night. He was wearing an orange AU polo shirt and looked like he was where they do PR after the game. Not 100% sure about the place where he was.

I was @ the game and it looked like y'all would have a lot of no shows but they were in the seats by kick off. There were many who bailed @ the beginning of the 4th quarter but if they hadn't gotten too far away, the shouting from the UNC side brought them back. I'm a LSU alum living in Raleigh and spoke to several UNC fans as we drove back today from Atlanta while outlet mall shopping. Several UNC fans said LSU fans were very nice to them and they had a great experience with our fans @ the game.
As for the tiger bait chant, you do know we have a real tiger on campus, right? And a tiger would eat a person, if they got the chance, so it all makes sense. Basically the saying is "if you're not a Tiger then you're tiger bait." Personally, I rather tiger bait our opponents than boo them.

Here's another article about Austin:
North Carolina senior defensive tackle Marvin Austin has not made a public comment since the NCAA investigation into the Tar Heels football program began more than six weeks ago.
In a message posted Sunday night around 9:30 p.m. on what appears to be his Facebook page, Austin, who was interviewed by the NCAA in mid-July for possible improper contact with an agent, may have broken that silence.
"I came back to school to have my character questioned..[expletive]..i thought education was key.. I dont really understand...i though it was the right thing to do..maybe i was mistaken," the message said. "...i like to say thanx to all those who stand by me i really appriecate [sic] it. oh yea and to those who wanna see me fall i wont cause i dont great athletes stay on their feet!!!!!"

I live in Raleigh and this is part of an article on our local newspaper's site:
Depending on whose rules were broken, North Carolina football players could wind up in uniform Saturday against LSU in Atlanta, even if they are suspended for the game.
If an athlete is found to have broken a school rule, UNC could allow him to travel with the team and wear his uniform on the sideline.
But if any Tar Heel is found to have broken NCAA rules, he would not be allowed to dress for the game and likely wouldn't be on the sideline at all.

re: Cary/Raleigh, North Carolina area - Any LSU hang outs?
Posted by lsuadpi on 8/23/10 at 10:21 am to TigerinSoCal
TigerinSoCal - From talking to some folks @ our kick off event Saturday night, I think there will be a few people going to Spirits in Cary for the LSU-UNC game. I don't expect it will be many though. Once I know we have set things up w/ Spirits, I'll let you know.
Here's the address and phone [Spirits Pub & Grub]:
(919) 462-7001
701 E Chatham St
Cary, NC
and their web address:
spiritscary.com
I'm not good a linking - sorry!

We meet for the games @ Spirits Pub in Cary. However, I don't think there will be many people there for the UNC game. Our association bought 80 tickets for the game. We're having a kick off event Saturday night and I'm sure we'll be looking for someone to host the view in as all the officers will be in Atlanta. Hope that helps!

We're big movie people and spouse, 21 yr old son and I saw this yesterday. We all LOVED IT! It was a lot funnier than I thought it would be and also touching. I read an article that some of the terminated people in the movie were not actors but actual people who had been let go from their company. At least they got in a movie!

I just saw it earlier today and thought it was a lot better than the reviews. Ditto on Meryl, Alec and John Kransikski. The reviews said it was predictable but didn't think the ending was. I think there were hints in some things Jane/Meryl said throughout about working too hard to get to where she was that led me to believe it might not end as expected.
Raleigh, NC - never heard of Sparks Wings and Ribs. We have been @ The Fox & Hound in North Hills for past 2+ yrs but due to poor placement in the restaurant and other issues, our new place is likely going to be Spirits Pub & Grill in Cary, NC.

If you don't mind driving to Santa Fe, I'd recommend a place called Maria's. My husband came on a business trip with me in Dec 2000 and the Sheraton in ABQQ recommened it to us. We went and it was great then went back again in Sept 2008. It was as good a we remembered. Lots of locals eat there.
