re: Mainieri’s desperation was evident hugging Milazzo after Alex left batting cage

That’s great. Now if someone will teach him to stop stepping in the bucket he might be able to hit. Notice he starts with his left foot open then steps to the left when the pitch is delivered. This is called stepping in the bucket. His hips are opening up and his left shoulder is flying open. There is no way he can handle a pitch from the outer third and beyond. It’s hard to get anything other than a pop up or ground ball to the right side. Any coach above coaches pitch level will attack him away, away, away. I don’t see how all his coaches from little league, high school and now LSU can’t recognize this. Where is the hitting coach. SITB can be cured, it’s not a secret. Drills to close the front shoulder, square the front foot and put a bat or something on the ground so he can’t step out. You have to work on this to develope comfort and muscle memory but it has been done since baseball originated. If he gets a pitch down the middle or inside it is a mistake, just saying.

I was named after my father’s best friend who went down on the Indy. I sent emails to about six of the survivors but only got one response. He did not know my father’s friend. He said he was 90 plus years old and couldn’t remember what he had for lunch the day before. My father tried but could not determine if his friend made it into the water or went down with the ship. He was not a survivor. I have a newspaper clipping from the paper announcing his death. The funny thing is my father was a junior and named me after his friend and my younger brother is the third.

Why any institution would hire Joe Alleva after he threw the Duke boys under the bus with no proof is beyonb nuts. Add that to the Miles and Florida disaster and tell me why he is still here. Get rid of J. A. Then you can rebuild. Who in the world is responsible for hiring him? Just saying!

I hope you pellet heads understand you need to get a life. The decision is made, O is the coach, move on. Please stop whining like a third grade girl. If you can't support the Tigers then try Tulane or Southeastern. Under the circumstances we made the right decision. I wonder if you would like every decision you made put on display for critique. If O doesn't work out we will get someone else. You must have a miserable life to let a sport control your very being. Take it from an old man, there are more important things in life than who is the coach at LSU. Treat him like you would want to be treated. Just Saying!

Look for him on TV, I was told he will be in Tiger Stadium. For True!
re: Look, Harris had all last year and still couldn't get it done against JSU..
Posted by Old Tiger Dude on 9/13/16 at 6:02 am to TaderSalad
Lets face it, Harris is not a D1 quarterback. Etling is an average D1 quarterback that looks better than that by comparison. It's hard for any QB to run a offence they have no experience with. Where are you going to find a power I formation HS quarterback these days. Unless you have a time machine, good luck. Just saying. Square peg round hole.
re: Making a WIN bar replica, where can I get a "WIN" decal?
Posted by Old Tiger Dude on 7/1/16 at 12:17 pm to TIGERFANZZ
I had some made at Action Advertising in BR for about $20. I had to make them twice to get the size right for 4-inch Pcv pipe. They look great.
re: The real issue with Miles and QB position
Posted by Old Tiger Dude on 8/5/15 at 7:02 am to Clint Eastwood
If your livelihood depended on a bunch of 18 to 22 year olds, would you play someone at guarterback that you know does not give you the best chance of success? Miles may be hard headed and old school but I can't believe he would play AJ if he actually believed Harris was better. Unless you are at every practice and know the work ethic, character, football savy etc., how can anyone other than a coach know who is better? AJ may not be a good D1 quarterback but that is another issue Miles has about recruiting. I have to believe there is more to this equation than is public. That being said, I also don't understand what the hell happened in the National Championship Game. I am not defending Miles on other issues. The fact that we don't have a great D1 QB is to laid at Miles feet only. Just saying.

In Baton Rouge go to Action Advertising 10699 Airline Hwy. This is on the service road. I had them make two WIN! stickers or stencils, they are not decals. The backing peals off leaving just the letters. I bought a 5' piece of 4'' sch. 40 PVC pipe and cut a 2'and 3' section. Lightly sand coat with 3 or 4 light coats of white PVC spray paint. They came out great. The people at Action are nice and will help you. Cost $10.00 ea.

I need the WIN decal for the WIN BAR. The decal goes on 4 inch PVC pipe. tigergal76 was selling them for $5.00 at one time. It would be easier than having my wife paint the WIN! on the pipe.
Win Bar Decal

Sorry if this is the wrong place but does tigergal76 still sell decals? I would like to get in touch with her. I need to make a win bar for my Tiger Pool Table Room. Sorry but I did not know where else to ask.

This is a stupid thread, like someone used to following USL would post.
re: Worse? -- '08 RJF comments or '07 Tebow phone number deal

Son, I can tell you never had an arse whipping by someone who had a real motivation to do so. My guess is your parents, never taught you manners, or whipped your little butt for bad manners or language. Especially language. It is obvious that you never played sports because you fail to see how a person would take great umbrage,`(displeasure/resentment, saved you the trouble of lookin it up), with such comments as RJF's. One day you may be fortunate enough to grow old and become wise, I doubt it but there is always hope.

Miles should bench RJF and do some damage control. We don't need to be another Miami or Auburn. If RJF wants to be a thug he should have gone to Miami. It is hard to argue that LSU has no class when comments like his are made. As an alumni I would rather lose with him on the bench than win with him running his head like a punk. Let your play speak for you between the lines. If by some chance Tebow shold get hurt how will it look? It is worse to say you are going to try to injure another player than to just do it like Ramsey did. At least there is some doubt about Ramsey. Florida will no doubt be sky high with plenty of added motivation. Good Job RJF, don't forget to beat your chest and jump around like an idiot if Tebow gets hurt.

This is the SEC not the Pac 10. Please remember we just came off of a tough, hard fought physical battle with Auburn. If you watch the rest of the season you will notice that the week following Big games, teams will be beat up and a little sluggish. Let the season play out. We all know that the Gumps will have one or two let downs (Sabin History), so we must just take care of business. I have been around a long time and can remember back to the 50's. Now is the best time to be a Tiger, enjoy it. In the SEC a win is a win. Less is doing a great job. Maybe folks don't remember Curley? Go Tigers!
