We provided Tebow with motivation last year with the phone number deal and Tebow played an awesome game.

How does that compare in terms of motivation compared to RJF's commment and his worse attempt to mop up his comment ?

I would be surprised if RJFs comments make Tebow play any different than he otherwise would have. It isnt like no one was excited about this game til this drama hit, and it isnt like Tebow is gonna run over RJF at any point.

IMO, the phone deal.

RJF's comments are about playing a good solid game, I have no issue with it.

The phone deal was...sad. I understand some prank calls, but the death threats is what pissed me off. I know a few bad apples can spoil the bunch, but still.

Miles should bench RJF and do some damage control. We don't need to be another Miami or Auburn. If RJF wants to be a thug he should have gone to Miami. It is hard to argue that LSU has no class when comments like his are made. As an alumni I would rather lose with him on the bench than win with him running his head like a punk. Let your play speak for you between the lines. If by some chance Tebow shold get hurt how will it look? It is worse to say you are going to try to injure another player than to just do it like Ramsey did. At least there is some doubt about Ramsey. Florida will no doubt be sky high with plenty of added motivation. Good Job RJF, don't forget to beat your chest and jump around like an idiot if Tebow gets hurt.

Not sure, which is why i asked...

I would personally guess the cell phone thing - but Tebow might actually adjust his game mentally in a negative way is he is concerned someone is intentionally looking more to light him up than stop his play.

T. Tebow 12/26 158 6.1 2 1
If you call that an awesome game...
He had a good half, but we almost shut him down the second half.

Folks need to be more sophisticated in judging QB performances. Go back to that game and watch it again. He made almost no bad decisions, including wise throw aways and numerous runs instead of passes. It was one of the best QB performances in Tiger Stadium history. I was in awe. passing stats alone will not allow you to feel the same

Tebow already promised to player harder for the rest of the year than any player in the history of the sport. How could any comment make him more fired up?

I know he had a very good game, but we almost shut him down (with the exception of that long TD pass to the TE) in the 2nd half.

If he backs it up then his comments were brilliant....

if Tebow goes off for 300yds and 3TDs and they smoke us, it was a bad decision.

Personally, I think LSU could have done without his comments. Florida was questioning themselves and my feel was that they were concerned about us.

Now they have more motivation....

Son, I can tell you never had an arse whipping by someone who had a real motivation to do so. My guess is your parents, never taught you manners, or whipped your little butt for bad manners or language. Especially language. It is obvious that you never played sports because you fail to see how a person would take great umbrage,`(displeasure/resentment, saved you the trouble of lookin it up), with such comments as RJF's. One day you may be fortunate enough to grow old and become wise, I doubt it but there is always hope.

As an alumni, I would rather not.
