A bookie once told me that if there is money being bet on it then it is probably fixed. Vegas isn't there to lose money.

Or them in Stop that Pigeon cartoon when they are flying.
Being retired military I have traveled the globe a lot. Europe, Middle East, Asia. She does not realize the freedom she has to spew nonsense. Send her to the Middle East to say that stuff, and see how it turns out for her. :rotflmao:
If you look at the voting map up here, most of the support to keep it came from the villages. Having been to several of the villages in Western Alaska and Northern Alaska they are a pretty monolithic group. They vote the way they are told. It was hard enough to get a simple answer to a work question out of them without having to get approval from a council.
Somewhere between 10 to 12k possible ballots out there. Need a hard break for him to get to 50% and keep rank choice from kicking in.

re: Why the hell haven't they called this race ?

Quit forcing bad mojo on us. This race can be called all they want, but if he does not get 50% of the vote with 17k possible ballots to be counted by the 20th, rank choice will kick in. I got my hopes up last time, and we got stuck with Murkowski again due to rank choice voting.
I want Mary gone, but as of now Begich does not have 50% of vote with an estimated 17, 218 votes still possible to come in by the 20th. If this holds then the stupid rank choice crap comes in. Rank choice is how we got stuck with Murkowski again. At the moment though it looks like rank choice is going away for next election.
Will we finally find out how much money John Kerry wasted and pocketed for

Its a screwed up process here in Alaska with the stupid rank choice crap. Crossing fingers ranked choice is gone this cycle. You get election day, then trinkle of votes. Of course election day is still not complete since some villages up here have to send ballots to Junea because they have no counting machines. Nov 12 and 15 for next updates and then rank choice BS if needed. Thank God Idaho put a foot down on the rank choice BS.

My neighborhood is. Most people here just want to be left alone. My neighbor on my left is Mr. Hiya and lady on my right is Mrs. Hi. Thats about all I know about them. Retired Navy guy 4 houses down has a FJB banner on his house so I'm pretty sure where he stands. LOL

Just talking to people around here in Wasilla the response is that Pallin is all about herself, so they voted Begich. Other side is the Begich Clan are the Bush Clan of Alaska, so they voted Pallin. Nobody knows anything about Petola so she kept her head down and pulled in the undecided vote and the ranked vote.
I'm here and hate this stupid rank choice voting Jjdoc.
Another issue we have is almost 600k registered voters and only about 200k even bothered voting.

Doesn't Alabama have the Bobbie Humfrey law that was passed for lying to police?

All I can say is don't be surprised at final numbers. There are a lot of people up here that are like me and only vote for one person. I refuse to rank anyone that I don't like.
So, just for argument's sake 10k people voted for last place person maybe only 5k people ranked so instead of 10k votes being divided among the top 3 there are only 5k.
Likewise, there is always the chance of the Mickey Mouse vote. Dem, Rep, Ind, and Clown party are on ticket. Yes, we actually have a Clown party in Alaska. Everyone votes their party, and instead of ranking all four they put the Clown party as second and stop you can wind up with the Clown candidate.
It is a stupid system that was barely passed, and most in Alaska aren't happy with it. The biggest problem here is the Southeast libs and the remote villages that don't keep up with politics.

Biggest thing it seems so far up here is she has the support of the liberal strongholds. Yes, even in Alaska we have liberals.
I do think with the new con of rank choice voting she will pull it out. They do a good job of explaining how to rank them, but not much on the you don't have to rank them and can only vote for 1.

re: Alaska just went stupid. All mail in vote and will not verify the authenticity of voter

The worst part is my polling station will not even be open to vote in person. This is going to be a HUGH CLUSTER.

Tell me about it. Just got mail in ballot yesterday. Did not request it. Also received ballot for someone who use to live here over 4 years ago. I will be down at Dept. of Elections tomorrow complaining.
