Anyone played Cam2 since Smitty’s burned down? How is it?

They have new scorecards as of a couple weeks ago that include the mixed tees.

Try disabling adblock and see if that helps. I had the same problem because my uBlock Origin config was blocking the image embed sources (usually some Facebook domain).

Anyone had any luck getting rid of leafhoppers? They're doing work on my pepper plants.

Picture of my potted Carolina Reaper. I water when the the soil feels dry index finger deep (or a day or so after), and put some 2-3-1 on it last weekend. LINK

The plant just doesn’t look as bushy as it did and the leaves are developing these rough edges and spots. What does this look like to y’all?

We got a good bit of rain yesterday and the rain chance today has gone down a good bit. Am I good to mix up some Neptune’s Harvest 2-3-1 this morning and apply? Only asking in case I should let things dry out a bit first.

Another question: the mixing instructions say 1 fl oz per gallon… But how much is that intended to cover? One plant?

Well I think you were right. I put 3 gallons of miracle gro on them 5/4 and 3 more on 5/8. All the leaves have greened up and everything looks a lot healthier.

Next questions… Is it normal for a Clegg's raised bed mix and composted manure composition to still need miracle gro for things to survive? Should I add any amendments to keep from having to apply fertilizer? If so, what kind? How?

I went to the local Rouses yesterday to go pick one up, and the flats were some of the thinnest I've ever seen on a brisket. :wah: I guess for $2.99/lb I can't complain too much, but I didn't even bother grabbing one.

Just put 3 gallons worth of miracle gro on all the stuff in the bed. We’ll see what happens.

I have some black mulch left over. Pretty sure that stuff is dyed black. You reckon that’s safe to use or should I get some pine straw?
I just went out and gave them a good watering. I’ll try the fertilizer too. At this point I don’t think it can get much worse, so I don’t have much to lose.

How could I tell if it’s disease?

I’ve done two what I would call deep waterings last week. They didn’t respond much to it. Maybe I could start watering more since it drains so quickly.
Maybe once a week or so unless we get some rain. I don’t have a very strict schedule for watering. I’ll poke my finger in the soil and dig around every once in a while and it never feels too wet or dry. Just very slightly damp usually.

Should raised beds be watered more or less?

It's composted and shouldn't be hot. I've seen people plant stuff directly into just black kow with no problems. So I don't know if that's your issue.
Well that makes me feel a little better.

Did you add any other fertilizer? Spray anything?
No, just the raised bed mix and the compost.

Here's an album with what I'm working with ( LINK ). The peppers in the pots were planted at the same time as the ones in the bed. The smaller potted jalapeno and Carolina reaper were actually saved from the bed after about a week and a half of struggling. They made a good recovery in the pots I think.

I could pretty much watch the tomatoes grow daily, but they've since stopped, and their fruits haven't grown anymore either.

Is anything planted in there?
Yes, 3 tomatoes, a bell pepper, 2 jalapenos, and 2 habaneros.

Why do you say that? What’s it look like?
It's my first year trying to do a small garden. I built the 8'x4' raised bed (the width of 3 landscape timbers tall) probably a month or so ago and planted at that time.

I put what Clegg's calls a half-yard of raised bed mix and a couple bags extra plus about 10 bags of black kow in the bed and mixed the best I could.

Soon after planting, the tomatoes looked great and the peppers started getting what looked like nutrient burn based on pictures I've seen online. Fast forward to today and the peppers haven't grown any and the tomatoes hit a plateau. All the plants' leaves are turning yellow and falling off.

I say it's nutrient burn because I can't imagine what else it'd be, and I had a feeling in my gut that I put too much black kow. I also have a couple peppers in pots right next to the planter (planted at the same time), and I couldn't ask for prettier plants.

I'm about 99.5% sure I over-fertilized my new raised garden bed. Is there anything I can do besides dig it out some and replace with garden soil?
you got an extra https// in that link btw

not sure if possible with your setup, but maybe an insulated-bottom butcher block as a lid and an ice chest underneath?
quote:

could you replace it with a sink?

if not, then just put an ice chest there

Already got a sink on one side and a fridge under the counter on the other (there's a lot of shite crammed in this small space which is part of my gripe). In a perfect world, there would just be more granite, but that'd be a new whole new countertop I assumed, hence the butcher block to plug the hole.

quote:

You can put a griddle there instead. Most have a lid so it’ll be almost flush like a butcher block. It’ll be more expensive but at least it’ll be dual purpose.

A griddle would be a decent replacement as long as the lid was solid enough. I imagine trying to find one to fit the existing hole may be tough though.

Removing a built-in gas grill?

Posted by jigem on 3/3/22 at 3:26 pm
Moved into a house with a small outdoor kitchen that was not very well planned. Long story short, I'd like to rip out the existing built-in gas grill and replace it with something. Since it's set in a granite countertop, I was thinking maybe rout a piece of butcher block big enough to fill the hole where the grill was. Dunno how well that would do though since it's somewhat exposed.

Anyone ever done this or have any thoughts on it?
