Wastewater bill

Has anyone else's wastewater bill skyrocketed?

I received a letter today that my bill will be going from $16 per month to $55 per month.

This is only wastewater. My water bill usually runs about $35 for two months but that is a completely separate bill and different company than my WW bill.

Insulated patio cover

After deciding to put off the shop build, I've decided to extend my existing patio.

Does anybody have a recommendation for a company that does insulated patio covers in the Hattiesburg area? Also will be looking for someone pour concrete, possibly stamped.

Random hotel search

My wife and I love going to national parks or on history based vacation, however as we are both teachers our time to go is during the summer when most parks are packed.

Since we are teachers our budget isn't very big, I usually look for hotels under $150 a night. Most of the places I've thought about going this summer are either booked solid or out of our price range. Is there some kind of site that I can pick a date and budget and it will generate a random location that fits that criteria?

We have never been west of Texas (pretty much covered all the east coast multiple times) so somewhere out west would be ideal.

re: Metal building suggestions

I appreciate all the advice and suggestions. So far I've gotten 3 quotes (still waiting on a few more) and it seems like everywhere is going to be around at least $30k.

I know some people will say wait for prices to come down but does anybody really expect that to happen?
I'm a history guy and enjoy many of the one already mentioned.

One I haven't seen mentioned but is very well done is Fall of Civilizations podcast. I've learned a lot about the ancient world due to this podcast. Some of the episodes also have YouTube videos that go along with them.

Metal building suggestions

Posted by JeffWinger on 4/4/22 at 3:40 pm
I am currently looking into building a woodworking shop/studio for my wife and I, but I need some advice if anyone could help me.

I'm in the Hattiesburg area and the smallest size I think I would need is around 700-800 sq. Ft, with around 150-200 of that being a studio for my wife's crafts. I'm not sure the type of building I would really need for this.

I received a quote for a general metal building for around $30k. I know prices are high however I was still a little shocked at that price, but this is probably the "new normal."

Any help would be appreciated.

Ring Smart Lights & Transformer

Posted by JeffWinger on 11/14/20 at 7:08 am
I've recently went down the rabbit hole of adding smart home devices, and I've come across a problem I haven't been able to fix.

My ring smart lights and Ring LV Transformer say offline in the app. Every now and then they will come "online" but if I try to switch the lights on or off from the app they go back offline and I get a message "lights failed to turn on."

Everything worked a few days ago, but my Ring alarm was on an account my wife started and the lights and doorbell camera were on an account I set up. Even though I could control everything in the app I was having to flip between two different accounts. So I removed the doorbell and lights from my account and added them to hers.

Another problem, the lights (when on my account) were connected to our main home WiFi network, and never had a problem. When I try to setup on her account the devices wouldn't connect back to that network. I figured I had too many devices on one network so I create a separate network, which they connect during the setup process to but continually say Offline in the app.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
