Any chance that this could be because his children are adults with lives of their own rather than children and also hold positions in the administration?
Of course there is a chance of that. In fact, here is neat chart of the breakdown by group. As you can see, Trump's travel decreased slightly from Obama, however Trump's family traveled nearly 10x the rate of Obama's.
Regarding the "hold positions in the administration" line, that may be true of Jared and Ivanka, but dumb & dumber don't travel on US business.
From the source article, which I explicitly hadn't quoted since it is fairly biased with its assertions, but bias or not this information is 100% verifiable and true:
quote:
In February 2017, Eric and Don Jr. flew to Dubai to open a Trump-branded golf club, which cost the Secret Service more than $200,000. The same month, Eric flew to the Dominican Republic to potentially relaunch a failed Trump-branded resort project, which cost $20,000. Eric Trump has visited Uruguay twice for Trump Organization business, costing taxpayers $97,830 in 2017,and $80,786 in 2019.
Does it particularly matter how much they travel? I don't know, that is up to you. I personally don't really care about how much they travel - that's a perk of being president - but what bothers me is they are using taxpayer money to enrich themselves. The Secret Service travel budget nearly doubled, $60m to $140m, to accommodate the travel extra travel which is mostly to Trump-owned properties.
Sure thing buddy, here's the source. Yes it is from a left-leaning "non-profit," which is why I didn't quote it because it reeks of bias, but the data is the data. Trump's family abuses the travel with secret service privilege, full stop.

but it is relevant to the social rhetoric around the case (whether he was hunted, whether it was a lynching, etc.).
I wouldn't say he was hunted, but they definitely intended to trap him given the way they veered the car. That alone is assault. The fact that they brought guns and had them at the ready (I won't say aimed them at him for the guys here who like to count pixels and pretend it matters) means it was premeditated. But obviously I don't believe their intention was to commit murder.
Would he have died if he just submitted completely to their will? No, I don't think so.
Was he justified in attempting to defend himself from two guys that trapped him with guns? Absolutely.
They cannot use self defense as they premeditated & initiated the confrontation (brought guns, trapped him using their car) and they cannot claim citizens arrest as they didn't witness him commit a felony (some are saying they thought they did - that doesn't matter - no felony was committed so they didn't witness one).
Of course the liberal national media will spin it as a lynching, etc.
Exactly the same way the conservative national media spins every illegal immigrant as a rapist and drug trafficker.
I will say I personally know many, many more vehemently racist, hateful, violent white men than I know mexican rapists, but that is neither here nor there.

The most hilarious (and appaling) thing about his hypocrisy is that the taxpayers are paying money directly to Trump's businesses when he golfs or stays at lago.
Something else is interesting...

It might be painful in the short term but at least this state has a strong underlying economy fueled by various industrial sectors. I'm grateful for the forward thinking leadership we've blessed with who were able to attract those industries to this state.

I feel bad for LA folks as I still have family down there, but MAN. You guys constantly bitch giving tax breaks to any sector not O&G, then go full shocked-pikachu face when the budget plunges with the price of oil.
Don't bath in oil then be surprised you're burning when it gets hot.
EDIT: for everyone blaming JBE not cutting spending and raising taxes, where you upset when Jindal sucked the federal Katrina money dry giving O&G $200 million in cash?

The funniest thing about this video is how quickly it speeds up to make it look like the dude just straight books it after exiting the construction site with *nothing* in his hands
He's got to be the worst burglar ever considering he didn't steal anything. To hell with it, track him down and shoot him anyway!

It all centers around one question: should the postal service be in the business of making money, or should it be a government-subsidized service designed to let Americans quickly, cheaply, and reliably send letters and packages to anywhere in the world.
Either one will require an act of congress as they are not allowed to make their own rules.
If you want them to make money they need to be able to set their own prices - as it is USPS charges almost HALF of what UPS/FEDEX do for smaller packages and letters.
A key talking point for Dems is the USPS has to "fund retirement and benefits for the next 75 years, even for workers not born yet." This is a complete myth. The USPS has to fund their employee's benefits the same exact way a private company does - the biggest difference is that a private company could cut/change health coverage to save money and USPS can not.
Essentially the biggest issue with the USPS is that they're forced (by congress) to act as though they are a private, money-making business that cannot set its own prices. Its baffling and asinine but what isn't in DC.

Yep - means there really isn't much in them because people are bound to forget over the weekend anyway. A real BOOM doc dump happens early in the week so its a huge can't ignore story by the weekend.
However, if there is anything actually substantial in these docs, all it means is that its the weakest files they have.
That being said, the "other shoe" or "bombshell" has been on the horizon forever...I'll believe it when i see it.

Why don't we challenge those coal miners and assembly line workers then? Coal is beyond dead: NatGas is cheaper, more efficient, safer, cleaner, and already being extracted alongside oil.
The ONLY ONLY ONLY reason coal power still exists is to pacify the few states whose economy's are entirely based on it such as WV and KY.
Coal gets around $5 BILLION a year from the government to remain viable - its a government hand out on an industrial scale and its absolutely disgusting. NatGas is the future. The coal miners need to adapt or die.

Who are they intimidating?
The cops?
That's exactly what the Sheriff thought.
quote:
Sheriff Mike Griffis told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday that the individuals carrying weapons at the protest were there to intimidate anyone who’d try to stop Big Daddy Zane’s from opening.
“This was not a protest over their second amendment rights,” he said, “it was a show of force so [Ellison, the owner of the bar] could violate the Governor’s order.”

In the other thread it seemed to be the consensus that the "armed protestors" were actually planted by the Sheriff so he could roll in his army tank - which was of course overkill - for a photo op and show of force over the people.
About That Odessa, TX, Bar...
Posted by libtrash on 5/6/20 at 4:55 pm
Original Story.
TL;DR - Odessa, TX bar owner opens up shop, defying Governor's order, police show up and shut it down.
This thread isn't about that. This thread is about the "Six armed protestors," also present at the bar.
As is stated in the linked article -
These guys are part of the "Open Texas" group whose stated goal is to "support businesses reopening across the state." Commendable, right?
Not according to the Sheriff -
Obviously the second amendment protects their right to own the guns and carry them, but do they have a right to gather where they see fit in order to intimidate?
Before you guys start spamming "SHALL NOT BE INFRINGED" at me - remember the first bit about "A well regulated militia," I'd argue a FB group isn't well regulated at all.

Been reading some horror stories from Drs.
If you get this thing - and get it bad - not only does it make breathing harder, it also raises your heartbeat to something ridiculous like 170-180...resting. Your body goes into shock fighting it and stresses the heart out.
Yeah her heart probably wasn't pristine or healthy in the first place, but still. Sad.
And if you survive all that, you're still at risk for a cytokine storm which will basically rip the interior of your lungs out.

Seems the new funds would have gone pretty quickly if it was as bad as everyone said. Seems that any small business that wants to apply and get funded has had a fair shot.
Hopefully these mega-corps that gobelled up the first round then got shamed into returning them learned their lesson.
All they had to was call up their bank and say "get me that money," and the bank had an inside lane to do so. No waiting on the phone like small businesses had to do.
