I'd go with the Rogue Monster rack. I feel like the more equipment that's jammed onto a rack, the less smooth things tend to work. Plus I don't like skimping on costs when I'm throwing weight around above my chest or one my shoulders. I've been thinking of putting something like this together too - I assume the rack works equally as well for squats and bench. Looks like good sturdy quality too.
Totally agree - reddit should be taken with a heaping spoonful of salt, especially these anecdotal stories. If it did happen, not cool, but also not the end of the world really.
I can't say that I've had a "nightmare" scenario with movers, but I've had less than pleasant experiences before. One company I would recommend that I've used twice now is A-1 Auto Transport. No problems with them at all and I had a car moved with my stuff too. Plus they offer a student discount which wasn't a huge price break, but it was $50 extra bucks I wouldn't have had otherwise. Good guys too.
