I have a group coming in as well, we do a different college football location every year, but just so happens 2 of the guys are GSU alums! Will your tailgate have anything to distinguish itself, I am sure the two in our group would enjoy seeing some like minded fans! ...
Well, so much for Bogie's! ...
We were treated pretty well, but that is somewhat the nature of our group, we all went there to support WVU (against TCU) as we will LSU this time around (the two GSU grads not withstanding). ...
lol WVU was interesting, the plus was that they sold beer in the stadium so no halftime hangover (very excited that got passed for LSU this year) the bad part was it was ~20 degrees and our generator on our RV froze! ...
1 from Virginia 1 from Michigan 1 from Chicago 2 from Atlanta 2 from DC Staying at a Airbnb most of us went to MSU, although 2 went to GSU, which was why this was the LSU opponent that was chosen. (Coming to LSU was a no brainer) ...
Getting close! Curious, should we be expecting the full tailgate experience since its opening weekend, or will the lack of a power 5 opponent minimize it? ...
I take your meaning lsu2006 lol ...
Thanks! We will be walking everywhere so traffic shouldn't be a worry. I can guarantee no bama, gators, or aggies gear will be worn! Most of us will be in LSU apparel of some sort with the lone exception being the one in the group who graduated from Georgia Southern. ...
I will tell you on Sept. 1st, we are going to the LSU vs. GaSo game ...
Thanks, Not to worried about that, not sure 7 rowdy guys are the target demographic for muggers and such! ...
We were in sub zero WV last year. So heat won’t be great, but it is an upgrade ...
Any good karaoke bars?...
Is the Parade Ground the primary place we should be walking around? ...
Thanks! I have no doubt we can get great food in NOLA, but the reason for these yearly trips is to experience a college football town, tailgate and stadium, and a big part of that is the excitement in the town the night before! ...
appreciate the option, we are staying just off Stanford, southwest of Perkins Rd. so we will most likely walk into campus that day. Not sure I want to be responsible for bikes! ...
While I recommended downtown for the bar scene, another poster recommended the Perkins Road area. Perkins Road is quite close to campus, and does have quite a few good restaurants and bars that cater to the >30 crowd generally. (Plus, it's about 3 blocks away from my house.)
You ...
Gameday: The Chimes, just outside of campus at the North Gate, is a good place to catch brunch. A lot of local cuisine, and a million beers on tap. It may be a bit crowded, but it's a pretty good way to start the day if you show up when they open (10:00am?). Otherwise what you really want to ...
I have no doubt you are right about the heat! It will just be a welcome contrast to last year! Thanks for the bar recommendations! ...
