So this is definitely a terrible misconception. This goes hand in hand with the racist narrative. Mexicans in gangs and Muslims being terrorist is a stereotype that has been earned. It doesn’t mean that they’re all this way, but all it takes is one to change the trajectory of any random life. It is my responsibility to do everything that I can to make sure that random life isn’t my family or myself. I’m secure enough to admit that their lives don’t even equate to me when I think of it like that.
