re: Solution for players sitting out

How about an expanded playoff? More players may play for a chance to win a National Championship vs “just a bowl game.”

UCF can't stop the run or the pass
1.) You are absolutely correct. We can’t stop the run for the 1st half of any game, but second half we are lights out at rush defense. 2.) Our cornerbacks are arguably the best aspect of our defense... I figure your coaching staff won’t be underestimating them like this.

You do realize everyone has speed at the playmaker positions. That’s not what most are referring to when talking about sec speed. It’s the speed of the big guys. The d-linemen and linebackers.
Yes I do. With style we play, our online has to be fast to keep up with the tempo, and our defense line is very athletic (Randy Shannon just doesn’t blitz a lot). Linebackers are fast, but this is a step down from last year as Shaq Griffin had elite speed. Eric Gilyard is a frosh linebacker, who has had flashes of filling that void.
I posted this in another thread, but it t seems better placed here:
5 of our 12 wins came against teams that are currently in the top 20 for rush yards/game, and 7 are in the top 50. By no means are we great at stopping the run, but that stat does skew our stats in rush defense a little.
How’s LSU against the run? Our run game is pretty good, specifically our back Greg McRae... he played very little to start the season, but just eclipsed 1,000 yards. I think he’s averaging 8-9 yards/carry.

Serious question, do you believe that UCF would go undefeated for 2 years playing LSU’s schedule?
Absolutely not. I think last year we would’ve had a good shot at having 1 loss with your schedule. This year, I think likely 2 losses, and maybe 3.
The thing about UCF, is that we honestly have that “SEC speed” on both sides of the ball. So the athletic advantage between UCF and LSU is pretty close (we just have to coach them up coming out of high school, as they are not as fine tuned as your recruits).

Serious question, if you played UCF’s schedule (including conference championship games and bowl game), do you think LSU would’ve won 25 straight games?
