Sure. but when the depth of the field is reduced going wide is smarter.

There's always room for improvement. A 3-point win over that AU offense needs to be adjusted.

up the middle...

Can somebody please get the offensive play callers to NOT run up the middle after it fails to gain an inch 5 times in a row. The ONE time they spread out 5 receivers, Burrow basically walked in. Seems pretty hard-headed,and stubborn to me.
Whoever it was needs to never call another game. There has to be consequences to doing your job badly. Can we sue the NFL for damages, lost wages??
2) The first down on 4th and 18. Good call.
The yellow line drawn by the network was incorrect. There are many articles on the web that show this to be true. The receiver was past the actual first down marker. Again, it sucks; but this was also the correct call.

Forget about the yellow line. The issue is where the ball is when the receiver hits the ground as compared to where the Line Ref spotted it (walks in from the top of the screen after the receiver rolls forward). The Line Ref was clearly wrong giving him an extra yard on the spot...and the first down.
Although it did not matter, the SEC crews need to evaluate the no call on the two AU linemen jumping over and pushing down and landing on the LSU linemen on the game-winning field goal? It was not allowed in 2010 when LSU did that in Auburn. Two Refs looking on??? The flag still should have been thrown...regardless.
