It is financially proven that having NBA & NFL in a city is an advertising machine that exists in only 30 & 32 markets respectively (Actually less given cities with multiple teams). New Orleans' main business is tourism, and people around the country hear "New Orleans" when watching or reading about both sports. You could not put a price on that advertising, but I am sure an economist probably has, LOL.

I was lucky to spend the '80s in BR going to school, and the PMAC with only your student ID was the bomb! My freshman year was the 80-81 final four team, I caught what I believe was the golden era of LSU basketball with Dale Brown. I saw CJ do things no other player still has been able to accomplish. We were down by four with little time left at Ole Miss, CJ went up for a three, hung in the air until the defender fouled him and he nailed the three and hit the FT. I was in awe.
