How to Beat Alabama

Saban doesn't have any glaring weakness in his game, but his run defense is a lot better than his pass defense.

LSU losses to Saban were due mostly to our low scoring, our lack of success on offense. But LSU defenses usually performed well against Sabama.

Teams that put 30 or 40 points on Saban did it thru the air mostly. Texa&m Johnny Football Manziel, Ole Miss teams coached by Hugh Freeze, scored big against Alabama. So, it can be done. A&M and ole Miss proved it.

The secret to scoring success against bama is a quick QB who can slip tackles and turn a busted play into a good gain like ole miss and a&m did it.

Saban teams are highly disciplined which works well for them as long as their opponent is predictable. But it gives Saban fits when the opposing QB improvises, makes passes that Saban didn't prepare to defend, and turns busted pass plays into completions.

Les Miles relied heavily on his all too predictable ground game. A predictable ground game is the recipe for a low score loss to Alabama. Miles proved that over and over.

Matt Canada needs to call pass plays about 60% of the time, or more, to put many points on Saban.

If Miles Brennan is mobile, quick, a good scrambler, good at improvising, then Canada should start Brennan in the bama game.

If Canada doesnt have a QB and an offense like that, LSU scoring will be somewhere between low and zero. Les Miles proved that so many times that it got him fired.

Etling is well suited to some games, but against bama he would probably be in sack city. Slipping tackles, scrambling until a receiver gets open, isn't in Etling's bag of tricks.

How bad will LSU beat Alabama ?

HA ! :rotflmao:

Mo serusly - What will the Vegas line be ?
Not only did the officials on the field miss that wildly obvious out of bounds call, but the review officials in the replay booth missed it too. The review team had to be asleep or AWOL.

The officials call off sides when a linesman barely moves, yet miss something so plain as a ball carrier stepping way outside the boundary line.

Officials muffed up the bitch slap against Gage too. Maybe LSU lost all respect from officials because of losing to Troy, having an idiot AD like Alleva, replacing Miles with Ogre.

What Fool hired Alleva?

Alleva, Ogre, and the fool who hired Alleva should all be run out of town!

Alleva Goes Duke on LSU

Alleva ruined the Duke Lacrosse team. Then LSU hired the fool. Then Alleva screwed up LSU sports. Whoever hired Alleva should be fired along with Alleva.

Who hired that idiot Alleva?

Fire Alleva

Every head coach hired by Alleva has resulted in deterioration of the affected sport. Trent Johnson, Nikki Caldwell, Johnny Jones, the Ogre, all made their program suck instead of make it better. Skip Bertman hired Paul Mainieri, the only national champ coach left since Alleva fired Les Miles.

Les achieved a 77% winning percentage at LSU - higher than any other LSU coach ever. Les won the NC and played in 2 NC games. Alleva fired Miles to hire the Ogre ? Insane ! The common denominator in the decline of LSU sports is Alleva. Dam Alleva sucks! Fire that fool !!
During the Miles era, the consistently strong part of LSU was defense. Miles hired several good DCs and didn't mess with their defense. But Miles messed with the offense a lot.

Miles background was offense and he couldn't keep his fingers out of the OC's business. Miles couldn't break that habit. Under Miles the offense was good when Miles wasn't messing with it.

Miles was a good recruiter but he was weak on passing and total offense. Miles could have worked around those weaknesses if he would have let his OC do his job without interfering.

Ogre's background is defense. If LSU hires a great OC, there is a good chance Ogre won't mess up the offense like Miles did with OCs. Ogre has a reputation of being a very capable recruiter.
