I agree with you to a point. This is the playoff era, not the BCS era. So any "precedent" doesn't apply.

Where I agree is that maybe a conference championship loss should NOT totally keep a team out of the Top 4, especially if they were undefeated heading into that game.
However, I'm open to the idea of a prequalifier for playoff discussion: be your conference division winner AT LEAST. That leaves you with 10 Power 5 teams under the umbrella of consideration +/- an "at-large" conference undefeated like ND, W. Michigan (to use an example from this year), etc for the Top 4 slots.

Any chance in hell Miles ends up in Oregon...?

IMO, you should 100% have to win your conference to be included in the Top 4 for the playoff. There should be clear parameters in place for this going forward. Absolute bullsh to not reward conference champions, particularly a P5 conference champ.

However, it does not appear that the committee is going to drop OSU after the conference championship weekend plays out. The only LONG shot is them being bumped to #1 IF Bama were to somehow all get the Black Plague & die during the SECCG & also Clemson somehow NOT win the ACCCG. Even after Clemson wins the ACCCG the committee MIGHT bump them to #2 & drop OSU to #3, which makes the match up the same in the end.

So does OSU spend the entire upcoming "extra" week prepping for a playoff with Clemson & maybe have their interns put info together on Washington if by some miracle Clemson loses & drops after the ACCCG? OR do both Clemson & Washington jump over OSU to #2 & #3 respectively dropping OSU to #4 & thus a playoff against Bama...? Thereby causing a need to put some interns on both Wash & Bama this week, just in case.

Additionally, do you think it is at all fair that OSU gets this "extra" week to prep for a playoff game...?

Unless I'm misreading you, are you aware that Barbe & Acadiana are in the same district...? Therefore Acadiana wouldn't have the same officiating crew as a Barbe game during the playoffs.

Have the 5A team play the top private class. Then 4A to 2nd tier.
Would have to stop there as 3A & below wouldn't match up well, regularly.

That is absolute bullshite.
If you don't want to travel, win more games. Your reward as the lower ranked team for winning a playoff game is still being IN the playoffs.

Instead of that millenial everyone gets a trophy safe space-esque move by the LHSAA the playoff teams should split the game gate 60/40 or 70/30.

Pardon my ignorance but can someone explain to me why the better seeded teams are not granted home field advantage in the playoffs?
What is the mindset there? How is a team NOT rewarded for being better?
Example: 4A Neville is #1 yet was on the road to Carencro tonight.
In what world does that make sense?

Anyone from ULL/USL/La-Laf making fun of any other football program/town in the state is beyond laughable considering that every other team has more wins, bowl games, &/or post season appearances in the last 35 years compared to the Cajuns recent run of 3 NOLA bowl games.
