Soil test results from last year. Since then I’ve added a ton of pelletized lime to try to raise the pH and fertilized in the fall and spring.

About how much did that project run you if you don’t mind me asking?

I like Coldplay.

If I don’t kept up with it frequently the grass fries. The soil is essentially sand and clay so I feel like it doesn’t retain moisture at all. I’ll send pics when I get home.

How soon after the lime would you fertilize? My lawn is already stressed. The only spots the look good are near shadier areas or where the dog has peed.

Just moved into my new construction house from an hour away. Zoysia sod looked decent for first month. Had timer set for a regular watering schedule for entire first month. Held off on cutting it. Then around week 5/6 a lot of rain was forecasted so I turned off the timers and figured I’d be good to go.

Arrived over the weekend to move in to find it in this condition. It looks like all it took was one hot dry week (last week) to fry it. I don’t think enough soil was placed on top of the crappy dirt/clay before laying the sod.

I’m going to get back on the water; as well as, aerate and top dress the majority of the lawn.

Am I screwed or should it bounce back with these basic interventions?

I have not thoroughly researched the different types of Bermuda or zoysia. The pine trees in the back yard will most likely affect the grass trying to grow towards back property line. For that reason, I’d try and go with the more shade tolerant versions of the Bermuda or zoysia.

Enough reading has me convinced the centipede is inferior and I’m trying to have a lawn I can be proud of.

Any idea how much more zoysia would be? Google search is of no help. It has zoysia being cheaper which I’m fairly certain is not accurate.

I’ve only been watering late in the evenings because I am at work for 6 AM.

Tried plugging this spot in my front yard about a month ago. Full sun most of the day. Am I screwed or is it salvageable?

Zero dollars as of now. Inspectors go out later this week. After they finish their inspections I’ll owe those costs but I still have time to get out based on what they find.
