Pretty sure they refer to Houston as East Texas. East Texas would be considered Japer up to Tyler/Longview for normal people.

I assume they are referring to Deculus, Chaisson, Delpit, Wilson and a few others.

There maybe better players in this class, and higher rated recruits out there, but this kid has so much room to mature (fill out) and so much more to learn. Chaisson will be flat out nasty in that stand up end/OLB role rushing the passer. Reminds me a little of Von Miller while in high school at the same age.

Would be a nice get for this class. Word is around the GHA that Deculus is all LSU as well. The kid don't turn 17 till later this summer as well.
We need this cat to pull the trigger and get in the ear of the other Houston studs.

It'd be a banner year in the GHA with Deculus, Wilson, Carter, and either Chaisson or Delpit.
I'll be surprised if Chaisson isn't a Tiger next year. He's an offer and take guy, and I'm pretty sure he's gonna be a high priority.

After watching Aranda's defense this fall, and how he'd fit in this system as an OLB, he will be all LSU.

He and Eric Monroe are pretty close as well, and BDP is his primary recuiter. No one recruits North Shore as well as he does.

Upcoming Juinor Day

I believe this Saturday 2/27 is the junior day where kids from around the country attend.

Is there a list out there with the expected attendees? Do they usually put out a list with kids that attended?

I know the Boys for the Boot was a success, it'd be nice to pick up a few more kids this weekend as well.

I'd like to see the GHA trio of Chaisson, Deculus, and Carter pledge here soon.
Being a Texan, and former high school coach for 3 years, I agree with what coach West is saying.

IMG sells themselves by saying they will make them a better player, and develop them into college athlete. Its all bull crap.

They go out, and poach the best players from around the country, that already have 4*'s and offers abound. If they went out and poached a 2* kid and made him into a 4* that would be impressive, but that's not at all what they do..

As a coach in Texas, you get kids from within your community, coach and develop them for 6 years (from the 7th grade) in many cases, and build your team from the ground up. Its a community game, not an all star/traveling squad you put together. Through coaching and community support, not by raiding the rosters from around the country.

He has every right to speak up, let his feelings be known, jump out in front of this, and hopefully stop IMG from being a problem here.
This kid ought to think before he talks.. He's claims to lose interest in LSU and leave them out of his top 5, because of coaching uncertainty.

Meanwhile, he likes Texas, and has them in his top 5. Charlie Strong has had 17 assistant coaches in 2 years on the job. Only 2 coaches from his original staff remain, and he will likely lose his job this year.

Lots will change between now and February 2017.

Kids a straight up mauler, and a very athletic 320#.

Didn't see much regarding his pass blocking, but watching him dominate very good high school competition like that is remarkable.

Looks like another Teuhema.
The task of selling LSU is easier to do in New Orleans, or Baton Rouge, than it is Mobile or Houston.

Selling LSU to Monroe kids hasn't always been easy either. Not till the last couple of years.
Orgeron and Craig would be the top recruiter on just about every staff in the nation. The fact we have both of them on this staff is great news. Craig is on par with Wilson, they just happen to dominate different metro areas.

Throw in Raymond and BDP and the fact they neither of them is a top 2 recruiter on this staff is crazy. Many a Universities would love to have these guys selling their product.

At this point, does it really matter? LSU could very well still be in the hunt. Win some games, and show an improved offense and he could very well still be a Tiger.

I'd rather have a kid uncertain now, and let LSU explore their options than to pull a Fowler at the last minute.
With the talent that Louisiana has in the 2017 class, coupled with the GHA talent, and the hiring of Juluke and Craig, 2017 could shape up to be better than 2016, in terms of recruiting.

Couple that with a national championship in 2016, and the current staff of ace recruiters, and LSU could bring in talent even we haven't seen before.

I don't believe this one bit. This is political theatre and a scare tactic to push through higher taxes and any other progressive reform he wants to pursue.

I believe he maybe an idiot and crook, but he's not full blown retard. If he's gonna shut down LSU football and higher education, he should also tax crawfish $20 a bag, outlaw Mardi Gras, and ban the Cajun French dialect.. That's all just as realistic.
Head on down I-10 East boys!

I could see us getting several GHA kids this year. I think Deculus is a Tiger, and if LSU goes after Chaisson from North Shore hard, they will get him too. BDP has a great relationship with North Shore and recruits that school as well as anyone in the country.

Hopefully Carter sees the upcoming void we have at RB after this year and next and makes the right decision too.
