re: Kudos to LSU!!

I'm planning on the return trip in 2017 along with a decent contingent of SU fans. We don't travel as well as you but we'll have a good crew ready to party with LSU faithful. Kind of glad we probably won't see Fournette again, but he won the hearts of many of us. He's an exceptional young man on and off the field. :geauxtigers:
Kudos to LSU!!

Syracuse fan here. We really appreciated you coming up to play and enjoyed tailgating with the fans that traveled with the team. Great representation.
I also wanted to give LSU a shout-out for the way you're hosting South Carolina. Here's a link to a South Carolina site where they're bragging on how supportive LSU and Baton Rouge are being. Well done!!

Just a piece of trivia: Fournette's 244 yards rushing was the 3rd highest recorded at SU, either at the Carrier Dome or at Archbold Stadium, built in 1907 and used until the Carrier Dome was built. SU's Joe Morris had 252 and Penn State's Curt Warner had 256. Nicely done...
Really enjoyed the game and your fans. The dome was rocking at times. It was an important game for us in many ways. We didn't win but at least made a game of it. Fournette is one of those guys we'll be talking about for decades. There will be a lot of us coming to visit in 2017 but not in the numbers that travel with LSU. Your fans represent really well. Geaux Tigers!!
Nice moment after the game between Fournette and Floyd Little. He beat us but made a great impression with SU and its fans, as did LSU fans in general. Well done!
re: Just leaving the game. Syracuse fans are the nicest I've ever been around.

Overall, as an SU fan it was a great day. We loved having LSU in town and partying with LSU fans. There are programs we hate, but you're not one of them. We're proud of our team but also impressed by yours. Fournette is special. We're proud that our guys played tough and are very glad they kept it close. We were worried about a blowout. The game was important to us and hope your fans enjoyed their trip. Now that the game is over, best wishes the rest of the way!

SU fan here. Really enjoyed your fans and the game. Take it for what it's worth. Really enjoyed Fournette as well. It's a pleasure to watch great players. Looking forward to 2017. You guys are ok in my book. Beat Alabama!!
I'll have trouble sleeping tonite...so psyched. Good reports out of the bars in Syracuse...LSU well-represented with cheers back and forth between the sides. Picked up extra beer in case LSU fans wander by our tailgate.
re: Why is there NO ac in the CarrierDome?
Posted by shenexon on 9/25/15 at 5:04 pm to Dirty Pierre
It's incredibly ironic that a place named the "Carrier Dome" doesn't have AC. I always blamed Carrier for being cheap, but played golf a few weeks ago with a guy that was involved in the project. He told me that Carrier wanted to put massive chillers in the dome but the SU administration at the time didn't want to have to operate or maintain them, so declined Carrier's offer. It's not so bad in the winter for basketball or late in the football season, but it was downright steamy in there our first game. The higher up your seats are, the warmer it gets. The crowd tomorrow will make it pretty toasty.
re: Syracuse Running Back Most like Fournette: Ernie Davis or Jim Brown?
Posted by shenexon on 9/25/15 at 4:58 pm to Hugo Stiglitz
I think Jim Brown. He was about the same size, was fast, and was able to accelerate, then able to bowl people over or spin and run away from them. He should have won the Heisman.
A few more additions: John Mackey HOF tight end, Joe Morris, & Gary Anderson - kicker.
Appreciate the plug as tradition & history are the primary things that have kept SU fans motivated for more than a decade. We hope we're going to be a competitive program in the near future and hope to give you a better game in 2017 than we'll give you tomorrow. It'll still be a glorious event. #8 LSU in the dome is memorable. You're also coming to central New York in its best season. It's a little chilly at nite with warm but not hot days. Fall colors are not at their peak, but getting there. The tailgating alone should be superb. Can't wait...

Syracuse fan here. This is a great thread and I hope to borrow the concept from you. Really looking forward to LSU in the dome no matter how ugly it may become. It's bizarre we'll have a 5th string walk-on starting as QB against the best team we've hosted in some time. He's a great story but so new that most of us don't have any idea how well he'll do. Coach Shafer didn't know his name a few weeks ago and now he's starting...damn. Best wishes to you (before and after the game) and hoping everyone stays healthy. Really looking forward to Fournette. He's destined to be a great one.
We'll do our best to provide you with the appropriate pre-game beverage. Syracuse is home to a great drinking tradition. I don't think you'll be disappointed.
Syracuse fan here. So glad to have you visit SU. Just a note...though it may be cool at the the tailgate, it will be warm in the dome. Don't over dress. You guys have a great team and it's a pleasure and honor to host you. If you don't have another place to gather, join us in the Fine Lot on the west side of the dome for the best Syracuse tailgate. We'd love to have you join us...
