Talk about it in The Tiger Den
Shea Patterson's not the state's only big-time quarterback from the 2016 class. By the time the final story on 2016 is written there's no telling how high Cole Kelley's stock will be.

Kelley wants to show Cam Cameron and Les Miles what he can do at camp this summer
Kelley is an uncommon prospect. The Teurlings Catholic pro-style quarterback is all of 6-foot-7 and 235 pounds. Not surprisingly, he's a pocket passer. And his stature as a recruit is improving by the week.

After a strong performance at the Dallas QB Challenge hosted by Rivals.com you can expect Kelley's stock to rise even more. He already has offers from Arkansas, Colorado State, Louisiana Tech, Lafayette, Oklahoma State, Southern Miss and Tulane. That could just be the beginning.

Kelley recently said, at that QB camp, that LSU's coaches want him to camp this summer. He said that again when TigerBait.com reached him this week.

"My plans are to go (to a camp at LSU)," Kelley said. "That's what I'm planning on doing unless something else pops up. It's on the schedule."

Kelley isn't sure if he will attend LSU's spring game but he is fairly confident about that camp. He readily admits he grew up liking the Tigers, so if he were to pick up an offer from LSU it would be huge for him.

"Obviously I've talked to Cam Cameron a little bit," Kelley said. "But it was basically just a little conversation. It wasn't even about how interested they were. I was there at the junior day about a month ago and we talked then. I've been going up there throughout my whole life, many times. But just since I've been recruited I went to the Alabama game as a recruit and to the Ole Miss game as a recruit. Then this junior day.

"I just loved the whole experience (at the junior day). It was great seeing that nice campus and walking out of the locker room to go onto the field was amazing. And the new add-ons to the stadium were amazing, too," he added.

Kelley is a staunch supporter of Les Miles and his coaching staff. That much is clear. It's also clear he's put some thought into it.

"They definitely know what they're doing. As much as people might think they don't, they do," Kelley said. "I think their offense could fit me. Obviously Coach Cameron is not dumb so whatever quarterback they have they really shape the offense around that. I mean, they're running with the quarterbacks more recently but when they had (Zach) Mettenberger they threw the ball downfield more. (Cameron) can make anything happen with any QB he has."

Arkansas and Oklahoma State are "the big" offers, Kelley said, not surprisingly since those are the Power Five schools in play. He has not visited either school but said he's planning on visiting Fayetteville and Stillwater this spring.

"I know Arkansas has a new OC that likes to throw the ball so I do like that," Kelley said. "That and they have tradition. They just win, like LSU. And they're in the SEC so that's a plus.

"Oklahoma State runs that spread and they'll throw it 40 times a game. It's just like my high school offense so I do like that, too," he
