I don't think I can comment because I'm not friends with him. It just showed up on my feed that several friends of mine commented on his post. If not I totally would  I'm sure he knows of this site if he's that big of an LSU fan.
if she thinks the Edge is too big, she will probably prefer the Kia Sportage to the Sorento (it's the smaller SUV from Kia) - starts in the $22k range. Looked at those when I bought my Optima. No need for an SUV though so I went with the sedan.

Nah - even the grand touring awd package starts under $30k.

huh... my manager must have gotten hosed then - I think he paid like $35k.

Has anyone at the fair expressed an interest of no weekend work due to LSU sports?

The Kia sorento or sportage - KIA has stepped theie game up

Ford Edge as mentioned - but check out consumer reviews about the transmission. I know Ford has had some issues with those in certain models

Mazda CX5 is nice too. Might be a little over your budget though depending on the bells and whistles you want
That's what I would think as well.

But obviously people have different priorities. I'm selfish and enjoy going on vacation whenever I damn well please so I'm holding off on procreating. Once I decide I'm ready, I'd like to think I'd give away everything for them.
I caught a comment or two on a FB post that showed up on my feed. I don't know the dude in question, but I observed from afar (know some of the people commenting).

Dude in question was recently laid off, has kids and a wife, and has been looking for work since he was laid off. He turns to FB for advice/help on getting a new job.

The normal suggestions trickle in. Mow lawns, flip burgers, keep applying to work. Someone mentions off-shore, but I guess that is out of the question due to family (cool, I can understand that) - some mention work that requires weekend work. He states he does not want to work weekends. Not because of his kids or spending time with is family, but because of LSU sports. At that point I shook my head, and it made me wonder. What would you be willing to sacrifice for the good of your family? What would you NOT be willing to give up?

I have no kids so I don't know. I know I'm a selfish person, and it's why I've chosen to not settle down or have children.

depending on the cap, he'll reach it in 3-4 days. NOT joking. Have known several people who have satellite and they reach their limit by day 3 of the month

What do you currently use your internet for? Could you supplement with a wi-fi hotspot?

I've been working in some remote areas lately, and people are so tech challenged, lot's use exede because it is their only option, and they are MISERABLE. no streaming, no gaming, nothing.

If you do any of these things regularly - or hell, even use your internet for more than online shopping, posting, email, then you will probably be moving within the year.

I think they have caps on the internet usage - make sure to ask about that. Also, I've heard they are terrible in rural areas.
Was contributing to a Solo 401K (self-employed), but was just brought on full time so I will be rolling that amount over in to a traditional 401k once that kicks in. Contributing to the limit.
I'm 3 months ahead on car payments currently - and I'm absolutely open to hearing ideas and opinions on how to best invest my extra money.
Ideally I would like to do a bit of both. Mainly invest in some that have longterm growth potential, and do some day trading when I have the extra money to lose.
So I'm thinking of trying my hand at the stock market and start making investments (I'm 27 and have been building my rainy day fund, paying off CC, etc) and thought before putting my real money in the market, I'd play with a simulator to get a feel for different strategies (diversifying the portfolio, which industries seem to do better, etc etc). I figured I'd give it a test run of 3-6 months before going in with my money.

Anyone else tried it for fun or to practice? what do you think? What have you learned from using it?
I see him say that a lot, but me thinks oldskule is a troll and says things just to get a rise out of people

and it seems to work.

OP;

money board posters like I love Bama

If you think RING looks interesting, check out SkyBell. I believe they cost less.

It’s a convenient way to monitor and secure your home at any time of day with features such as motion detectors and night vision. You can even check to see if deliveries have been left at your front door.

RING and Skybell are both leading companies in this space.
